About
Old Greenwood, host of the 2020 Barracuda Championship on the PGA Tour, is widely regarded as one of the best public courses ever designed by Jack Nicklaus. It features a beautiful mountain backdrop in the High Sierras, winding through an exclusive neighborhood of homes. Tall pines line its twisting fairways. Deep bunkers and water hazards guard demanding Nicklaus greens. The facility, part of the Tahoe Mountain Club, is also home to a golf academy with one of the best practice facilities in northern California.

Early season
It was a bit early to play the course. Greens were very slow, and no carts on the fairway. Wish i would of known before playing. Still a beautiful course!
Carts on path only.
For it being a mountain course high up in elevation, they should let people know before booking. Made for some long walks, and slow play from other groups.
Old greenwood
I screwed up. I should have called the course direct. I paid $204 per person to play. If we would have called the course direct it would have cost $170 each. I just thought calling golf now it would have been cheaper. Lesson learned.

Tough Track
Amazing for a public course. Challenges include elevated greens complexes, bunkers seemingly in the middle of each approach shot, and most shots ran out.
Excellent
OG is one of my favorite courses. Gorgeous views and meticulously maintained. Tee boxes were immaculate. Greens were great 10.5 stimp. Challenging, but playable. Highly recomended!
Great Golf course
Great course with some very tough holes. Wind and elevation made it a bit tougher. Green complexes were also difficult and well bunkered.
Over expectations
Getting for PGA event…Pro shop staff inattentive…my first time…rented clubs..I got a cart with no GPS…no ice…no direction…play was so slow due to cart path only(that’s understandable) Greens were not that fast maybe a 11 at best and very spotty ….very small venue compared to other PGA event I’ve been to….looking forward to watching the TV coverage…
Disappointed
I am disappointed that it’s cart path only, with the amount of money I paid, it’s not worth it! If ever and whatever the reason is, you or they should announce that it’s cart path only so at least we know if we still want to do it!
Old Greenwood
This was my first time playing at Old Greenwood and it definitely will not be my last. The staff was very friendly from the bag drop off receiver, cashier, starter and Marshall.
The warm up and driving range areas were fantastic! Reminds me of Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert with anything and everything that you need to get you ready for the game.
The course was challenging with some tough pin placements, but the fairways were forgiving when you hit them. The views around the course were fantastic and I enjoyed the course lay out.

Great course. Pristine condition. Active maintenance crews on the track. Some members maximizing the 4.5 hour pace…
. Hard golf course.
If you’re up to a very challenging golf course, it would be the place. I am a two handicap and I didn’t find it to be very much fun. I like the opportunity to score when I hit good shots.
