It's NINE HOLES
The course info showed 18 furlongs, but the course was rebuilt and is now a 9-hole track (they are building the new SDFC training grounds on the old back 9). The course condition was great (it's only been open 2-1/2 weeks per the pro). Longest hole is around 165 yards depending on the tee location.
The new tee boxes were in good shape and the greens were great.
However, it's only NINE HOLES and we were done in 80 minutes (we were messing around a bit).
Buyer beware.
T00 slow
Newly designed 9 hole course is very nice. In much better shape than the old 18. Could use an occasional visit from a marshal to speed up people who have no idea that there on others on the course.
Walked it as course is overseeded
It was walking only, but it allowed us to get a feel for the property. The holes were pretty straightforward and the greens in good shape. There's water early and probably water when it rains.
You may also be able to watch SDFC train there this winter and spring
Perfect Par 3 Course
This course is perfect for short game practice! Great place to come out with family or friends for a quick round.
Cart path only
There were no advisories on Golf Now about cart path only !! By the time we found out about cart path only it was too late to cancel the tee time. The ruff was very tall next to the fairway and very hard to find your ball ! You had walk your butt off to find your ball ! After you found it you probably had the wrong club. It was not fun at all.
Great day on the course
Conditions were very good considering they are at the tail end of overseeding. Fun day. Only 1 hiccup. The starter slipped a group in front of us, pushing our time back about 15 minutes. No biggie, we're retired and not in a hurry.
Had taco Tuesday in the bar and grill after. Tacos were meh. Have something else.
Willow Glenn needs changes
Willow Glen course was overbooked. The rough was so thick and deep. It would take you 10 minutes to find a ball and if you did find it most of the time you couldn’t it was almost impossible to get out of the roof. You’d have to chop the ball like an ax. And then your bowl would only go 4 feet and it happened over and over and over you lose so many balls and becomes very stressful None of the courses etching Hills. The rough has never been like that. I hope they put it back to the way it used to be.
Pine Glen
Beautiful course, the small fairways are well groomed, a few holes over 150 yards but most of them are 104 yards. The greens appear to look like rolled out carpet grass. We paid $25 to walk 9 holes. The staff are friendly and there’s a full pro shop with a restaurant.
Carts
The carts wouldn't work on the last 4 holes,we had to back out the rest of the way, course conditions were great, don't play until they get this fixed. Also too expensive for what you get!
Great course, bad ameneties, no drinking water
Great fun and challenging course just too bad there was no cart person, closed half way house and no water fountains for a water refill areas during the hot mid day sun. It was walking only and a high of 95F so our group would at least have a cart attendant come and sell drinks or water. Called pro shop for water or cart attendant but none came. Hopefully will be better next time around.
Management Issues
The course recently underwent over seeding requiring walking only. The issue is that too many I experienced golfers are taking way to long to play the course and this location has no Marshall’s ensuring a decent pace of play. This cannot be overstated enough. It took close to three hours to complete SIX holes. Unacceptable.
So slow
Some thing must be done to improve the pace of play . It is terrible stand around at every hole waiting for the group in front of you to move.
