Challenging course but fun
Great course. Friendly staff. Pace of play was great. Great practice facility as well
Crossings
Excellent course, very challenging, great restaurant and service!!
Great course
This is one of the best courses in the North County area for the price. Have played here several times and always enjoy the round.
Challenging and Fair
My wife and I each found the course challenging and fair. It was our first time playing the course as this was our first visit to the area. We both would most likely approach certain holes differently when we play the course again. However we did not find ourselves “penalized” by unseen or hidden obstacles or hazards.
Unique layout leads to a memorable round
This course is a lot of fun. Anyone who complains about the greens probably hates fun, sunshine, and puppies. Yeah, they’re ridiculous, but that’s what separates this course from all others in the area. Once you get to the green, the adventure begins. This course is an all-around great time.
Roley Poley Greens
Nice course and in pretty good shape for the winter. Beautiful views from the course. Most of the course is pretty good but some of the greens were obviously designed by the famous architects of Mickey Mouse and Goofy. Other than that we had a good day if you like 3 and 4 putting many of the greens. I don't recommend it because I am a pretty good golfer and most people would have a hard time on greens like this. I sure did.
Not for faint of heart but beautiful challenging golf holes- good value-great facilities & staff
Unique from most golf tracks-great challenging holes w/spectacular views-altitude changes difficult to process but beautiful views & great golf challenges-from the tips need to be a 10 hcp or less--from the whites manageable for shorter hitters but a challenge. Greens a bit IPA (hoppy) later in the day.
Veterans advised me that slow play (4+hrs) can be avoided if one tees off before 9:00.
Great practice facililities for chipping, putting & range work. Hospitable staff great-(need more draft beer selection) but dining inside & out very appealing.
Not a walkable course - in fact- from green-tee as long as the course itself.
In the end-quite a challenging golf adventure!
Great Round of Winter Golf
I enjoyed playing this course. Teed off at 1230 playing from the white tees.
I like courses with plenty of elevation changes of the tee and The Crossings did not disappoint. There were also many holes where you had to carry water or a Canyon to get to the green.
The greens were by far the most challenging part of this course. Almost all of them had multiple tiers, and if you weren't on the same tier as the hole then a two putt was difficult.
While the course was exciting to play, the food service was certainly lacking. There was limited amount of food and drinks at the snack shack. We played the whole front nine without seeing the cart girl. We ran into her once on the way to the 10 tee and didn't see her again in the whole back nine.
We didn't have time to stay for drinks or dinner after the round but the restaurant and patio with a view across the valley to the ocean looked terrific.
Great course.
This course is laid out on about 700 acres so the holes are spread out. From the member tees the course is 6100 yards. It is challenging. Important to hit straight shots. Greens can be tough. I will definitely play it again when I am out there.
Great Experience on busy day!!
My first time playing this course. Front nine is very straightforward but back nine makes you think on every tee shot!
Very positive experience with the pro shop staff and starter. Greens very rolling at a very good speed.
Play the proper tees based on your handicap and you should have a great experience. If you are passing through Carlsbad. Put this course in your list to play. You will be glad you did!!
Challenging course, great views
Beautiful views of ocean and surrounding area. Accuracy of shots is important. Greens are undulating but smooth and fast. Carts have yardage indicators.
Country club casual
Country club quality with municipal access. Impressive.
Challenge
I was really looking forward to playing this course and when a hot deal came up I jumped at it. I figured why not I am teeing off at 1:30 I should be able to finish in by dark. Completely not the case, it took me a little over 3 and 1/2 hours to get through 12 holes. Considering that this course is not walkable and every one rides I really thought I would be finished in that amount of time. Outside of not even coming close to finishing my round the course is excellent.
