Westin Desert Willow Villas

I fail to understand why I was charged for a round that never happened. No notice from Golf Now, or Desert Willow that they had closed for the day because of High Winds. Has to cross the street and play the Marriot instead.

Completed our 4th round at the is course over the past 3 years. After playing dozens of rounds in the desert while on vacation there, this course might be our favorite one. It is spectacularly beautiful, very well maintained and a joy to play. Not too hard, but definitely a challenge even for experienced players.

Our foursome of golfing friends played the Desert Willow Firecliff Course on 5/19. We were treated to a warm but not hot morning tee time, with a nice enough breeze to keep things even more comfortable. At the first tee box the starter warned us of the many bunkers that guard the fairways and greens. The Firecliff Course is not difficult track if you play the club that finds the fairway off of the tee.

Our pace of play was really good, never waiting or being pushed by other golfers. The greens were in good shape and the ball rolled true to the breaks.

Overall, I would recommend the Firecliff Course at Desert Willow to all mid to low handicap golfers. It might be a little challenging and not as fun for the higher handicappers.

If there were any negatives about this course I would say that the cost of adult beverages from the cart girl were a little steep.

Great course but front nine greens are a little burned out by desert sun

I played Mountain View and it was an amazing course. The staff was extremely helpful. As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by a staff member, took my bag and told me he was going to place it on a cart for me. When I went in to check in the staff member again was extremely helpful and even walked me out to my the staff member.

My only two complaints are 1) the range was closed due to maintenance, so I had no time to warm up and the woman calling us in forced another player and I to share a cart. Our tee time was on a Thursday at noon and we were teeing off 15 minutes earlier. We both explained that we were first timers at the course and that we prefer our own carts and would even pay more to have our own carts. She did not care and told us that we had to share a cart. She was the only staff member that gave us a hard time. Everyone else went above and beyond to welcome us. At the end of the round, we were greeted by a group of friendly staff members who cleaned our clubs.

Besides that, the course was in great conditions for playing in late May. It was not burnt at all and layout was extremely generous.

I would play again and hopefully next time I can take advantage of the range and practice area.

Golf staff was great. Concierge and dining staff were filled with attitude bordering on rudeness.

This pristine golf course is a dream for any golf enthusiast. The friendly staff add to the positive experience & the facilities along the way help keep you cool & satisfied. Thank you for making this a highlight of our vacation. Every hole is picturesque as a bonus. We can’t wait to play this course again on our next trip to Palm Springs. Definitely our favourite!

Always great to play Desert Willow either FIrecliff or Mountain..

booked this course based on tripadvisor rating of #1. can confirm that is true. my wife never stopped saying "oh my gawd, this is so beautiful" and it is . from starters who accommodated us as a twosome to the course lay out and fair positioning of sand and water to the spectacular patio. must play

Easy tee time, beautiful course, finished in 3 hours.
