Westin Desert Willow Villas

Rode the Purple tees (6507/71.2/128) in 4H, 20 twilight using Forelinx. Paired with Laura, Susan and Emmie, fun group to play with. The weather was clear, fairly calm and around 75.

Playing conditions were excellent bording on immaculate across the board.

The tees were very nice. Lush and level with few divots.

The fairways are lush, firm and really nice to play from.

The rough is lush and mowed down. Good POP rough, not overly penal. Really nice to chip from.

The waste bunkers were firm and not as well maintained as the greenside traps. The greenside traps had good quality sand and were nicely maintained.

The greens putted medium fast and were smooth and firm.

This course would be challenging to walk as numerous tees are a long way from the last green. Customer Service always excellent here from when you drop your clubs off out front to when you pick them up out front. Drink cart out making the rounds several times. Good GPS on carts. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course. The all grass driving range is included and above average. Nice practice chipping area. Highly recommended, very under rated course in the Palm Springs area.

Fantastic greens, friendly staff and very accommodating.

Superb conditions and beautiful layout. challenging course. miss the fairway and your in some thick grass which can be difficult to advance the ball along way. mainly because you will most likely have a uphill/downhill/side hill lie.

Apparently this course is regularly booked up, so expect to be waiting a little more than usual, we played on a Wednesday.

Practice facility and clubhouse are top notch.

Course was well maintained, layout was challenging but fun. Greens were fast and lots of break, seemed like all pin locations were difficult. regardless, course was in great shape and was an enjoyable round. Fairways were fair and flat for the most part. Second cut was difficult to hit out of. Clubhouse and practice facility was superb.

For midweek, the course was very busy. We met many locals at the range and they all said tee times are usually booked solid. We had to wait for majority of the holes. playing 2 rounds that day we had to get food to go between rounds.

Worth the visit, would play again.

I had heard good things about Desert Willow and on this particular golf trip we put both courses into the rotation. Needless to say it lived up to the hype. The Greens were immaculate. The course layout is great with different things catching your eye on each hole.

We'll definitely be going back.

Just a fantastic course and staff. Very friendly and professional. Great conditions and greens. Stimping 9-11. Beautiful views and interesting layout. They're doing it right. Other courses could learn a thing a two including the privates. Highly recommend. Don't ask questions.....Just play it.

This is a challenging course, but fair - if you play the right tees.

First time here, great experience playing as a single with 3 great guys. Outstanding condition, fast rolling greens. Exercise caution on the greens or you’ll be way past all day, chips and putts roll out more than expected. Will definitely return.

Some of our guests had come 1500 miles for 4 days of golf. I am disappointed. Rod

Always love playing this course. Brought some friends for their first time and they loved it also.

From start to finish the overall golf experience was acceptional, except for after the rould ee found out the whole club house was cloased for a private event. So missed out soaking in vista view of the course from there outdoor patio and the reason for only a 4 star recommendation for the facility.

Drizzly-foggy day making views of the course limited. Easy to see that great care was made for making a wonderful visual experience though.

Staff at the club house was very attentive and always ready to answer any questions or point you in the right direction. Grounds keepers were always courteous turning off any power equipment if a player was within earshot.

Nice variety of fairways from wide open to sand trap laiden.

What a great experience playing this course! Staff was great course was well maintained! Greens were immaculate! Ready to play there again!

Teed off just before 1:00PM and didn’t expect to get 18 holes in before dark but to our surprise and delight our foursome played in under 4 hours. . The course is in excellent condition....greens, tees and fairways which was also a surprise given the amount of play. It had rained in the morning and was cart path only when we started but that restriction was lifted after a few holes....another surprise which was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course Is not overly difficult but challenging enough for a good player with some interesting holes and very playable for the average golfer. A good layout. Enjoyable day!

This is by far one of the best courses I have ever played. Practicing at the range every day, and played on New Years Day. What a treat! Staff are excellent, and the course was in excellent condition. We were the first group out, but had an hour frost delay. Wouldn't you know it, the coldest day of the year in Palm Desert. Other than that, it was as good as it gets!

This course was heavily used and equally maintained! Just as a successful course should be. Excellent layout! We will certainly look forward to playing here again! Thank you!!!

This course has a excellent layout, difficult but not over the top. Wide and long enough to use the driver on most holes. Some very nice par 3’s and some lengthily par 4’s. Firecliff is one of my favorites in the valley.

Excellent round of golf, especially for this "novice." Had a brand new set of clubs, played today for the first time on this course and with these clubs. Served me very well! Excellent job, staff!
