sad shape
I play this course every time I am in Orlando but this is the first time I was ever disappointed. I know the weather had been hot and dry but nothing could have prepared me for the mess we faced. we were not told what shape the course was in until the starter told us we may want to play rollovers in the fairway if we could find some grass. The tee boxes and fairways were barren and the greens were also patchy. I could understand if all courses were like this but we played a number of others and this was the worst. I hope the course gets the TLC it requires and can get back to its former shape.
Poor poor poor conditions
Have vacationed here many times, and have always picked the reserve course over legends or cranes bend. The course has always been in immaculate shape and the staff has always been spot on. However, today I showed up, they put my bag on a cart, I went into the pro shop paid my cheap greens fee and took off to 1 tee. I was immediately disappointed by the course just by looking at the 1st tee box. Very dry, bare, and weeds up to my calves! The fairway on hole 1 was the same way, weedy and bare. This was basically the same conditions throughout the whole front nine. Finally we got to the back, which is in far better shape. The front was so bad I almost returned my cart and left the joint after the front 9! This resort golf courses are owned by a company that buys courses around central Florida for cheap and maintains the off bait minimuns and the company is called Integrity. I have played many integrity ran courses surround central FL (rio pinar, hunters creek, ridge wood lakes) and orange lake has always been the best and has always been my favorite. However, after playing it today, I almost never want to play again. Every other integrity course is like Augusta National to this course. And remember, it's integrity,, they maintain courses off bare minimums. Staff was very rude, and had attitudes. The bag guy didn't clean my clubs after, didn't even say hello or how my round went. He even actually stole my water bottle after we I pleasantly asked him to put in my cart when I first arrived. However greens were averse but Never will play again.
You better be on your game when you play this track.
This is course that was designed through a time share / condo complex. Almost all of the holes are either bordered by condo's, thick Florida scrub (bushes, cypress, and pine trees). You really need to be on your game and if it is a windy day you need to be able to flight the ball down and have really good control of your iron game. Many of the greens are guarded by either ponds or sand traps.
While this is a straightforward golf course it is one of the toughest I've played in the Orlando area. We did see a small gator in one of the ponds, which is kinda cool. One of my approach shots ended up a bit short and rolled back into the water surrounding the green, saw a gator quickly swim to the ball. I assume he thought it might be dinner. It did give me new respect on not to go after a golf ball when it rolls into a pond. This alligator swam much faster than I know I can move.
Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Not sure if I would play again, very difficult course and there are other courses in the area that are better suited to my style of play. Normally I shoot in the mid to high eighties and I carded a 3 digit score on this tight track.
disappointing
Orange Lake Legends, played 4/11/2017, I have never been disappointed in this course, until today!
The current Reviews show it as a 3.5 star. Not one of the holes would I consider in good condition.
The Fairways are wore down and full of weeds, the greens are burnt and lumpy the Tee box’s look more like a horse pasture. I have been playing this course for over 10 years and have never seen it in such deplorable condition.
Avoid at All Cost-Arnie Would Cry If He Saw the Course Condition
Conditions were one of the worst I've ever golfed. The pro said the course conditions are pretty fair due to the recent rain which most likely means they do not water the course. Positives - Good and fun course layout with 3 Par 5's on front and only 1 on the back. Par 37-35. Staff friendly and pace of play great since no one was on the course. We found out for good reason. Course conditions were just atrocious! Lots of bare spots all over the fairway and even some areas on the greens. Greens were brown due to lack of watering and rock hard. Couldn't even hold the green with a sand wedge. It's really a shame because it's supposed to be the only Arnold Palmer "Signature" course in Florida. I would avoid this course.
Nice greens, rest of the course needs some love
I've played this course multiple times and I have to say that this is the worst I've seen in. The saving grace was that the greens were in good shape, had great speed and ran true. That made the fact that the rest of the course was in really bad shape bearable.
Spring Break trip with my son
I booked this course based on price and location. Nice layout and course conditions. Weaved through a large timeshare complex but was never a problem or distraction.
Less than Perfect
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course is in very poor condition. Very little turf on the fairways (mostly weeds). Greens are ragged and very uneven. The course could be great but maintenance has been ignored for too long. I would not pay 20 bucks to play here much less 90 bucks again
Pace of play
Course has a great layout. If you roll them in fairway it is a good course. Greens were in good shape. Pace of play was horrendous. No ranger on the course. Really depressing playing a 5 hour round.
Challenging course but fun.
Fairways and greens in great shape. A fun but challenging course we enjoy playing when in town.
Do NOT Play until they grow some grass!
Very Dissapointed! I have played this course several times and was simply appalled at the lack of grass in all areas. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in dismal condition. All the other Orlando courses were pristine. However, The staff, clubhouse and amenities are first class! The cart girl was attentive; perhaps the best cart girl in Orlando.
I have played this course a few times during each trip to Florida. This is theworseshape it has been in. Bad greens....etc. I would not play here again.
Home course at resort
Course is in worst condition we have ever seen it.
Good practice course , good value 9 holer
We played this course at the start of our vacation . It is an ideal course for getting into the swing of things if you are on a golf trip and plan to play more challenging courses later in the week . A good course to use a practice session before the serious golf starts later in the week . The course was good value for the reasonable price we paid . The staff were very easygoing but efficient and friendly . The fairways were in good condition and the greens were good for the price range ... although the final hole had a temporary green as the main green was being worked on .
Overall , a pleasant course , and good value for the money
Nice course
Nice 3 par course.
But was really hard to find. The staff sent us to the wrong place 2 times before we finally it. But nice layout.
Resort fees for a dried up course
The course was so dry tee boxes were mostly bare and dry rotted and dry rotted and animal holes on greens fairways were dirt and grass .They still charged full price . I would not recommend playing on site. Go off site and get better deal and better condition
Terrible condition
This course should not be open. No grass on fairways or greens. Being an Arnold Palmer design I expected far more. 5 hour round and apparently only one Marshall to look after both courses. Never saw him. Suggestion to Golf Now that they remove this from their site until the course is returned to some form of reasonable condition.went into the pro shop at the end of the round and as politely as possible told him about the condition of the course. Only response I received was--Oh that's too bad. Again Save your money. Don't play this course
WARNING! STAY AWAY
Course conditions have gone straight downhill since we played last year at this time. Fairways are bare, greens are bumpy, tees are terrible. Of the 10+ courses I played in the last 2 months this by far is in the worst condition. Should have paid $15-$19 instead of $50. Went to rake a bunker and the rake broke! Cart girl didn't have change so I paid $5.00 for a Gatorade!
