Must Try
Love this course. I found a hotdeal through GolfNow; for $70ish to play in this course, very reasonable . The warmup area is good, they provide balls for you to practice before the game. It is a “real” golf course , not like those inside the gated communities. Women’s tee is not so challenging but I think the blue tee is more harder. Will definitely go back if I find more hot deal 😀😀
Great course, one of my favorites
The course was in great shape and the staff is alway a pleasure to interact with. The pace was well above average, ran into a little slow down around 10, but still finished in 4:15.
The food at the restaurant after the round was top notch. Highly recommend.
Highly recommended
First time playing since Raptor Bay. A little unsure for the first four holes but in the end we loved it. Holes 11 through 17 are on a hole new layout and feel like you have entered into a golf realm that you will love. No houses and just pure golf. Definitely will go back. The only issue was playing hole number 4 for the first time. Hit it as hard as you can at the trees on the left and hope for a good lie. Staff was great!!
First time Since Raptor Bay
I played this course today for the first time since it changed to Saltleaf.
From the friendly staff at Bag Drop to the Starter who was genuinely enthusiastic in giving us all the information needed before our round.
The extremely nice cart young ladies always around with friendly attitudes .
The course was impecable, the greens rolling beautifully..A forgiving course but one brain fade and you could be in a bit of trouble. After the round ,I highly recommend the Clubhouse restaurant and bar.Food was amazing and reasonably priced, and our hostess Carolina made the end to a fantastic round of golf that much more enjoyable...Great attitude, service and extremely funny..
Awesome conditions
Course was great, but the staff makes the experience a lot much better. Felt like going to the private club back home was a great day and looking forward to playing it again.
Great Place Very well Groomed
Very Beautiful Challenging Course Greens aren't easy very picturesque Love This Place my 5th Time playing Here. Twice on 9 hole 3 times on Championship Course.⛳️.
From A to Z this course is BEAUTIFUL
Excellent customer service !! Ed from the pro shop called us two days before our tee time to invite us to play the 9 hole par 3 warm up for just and extra $10. The course was BEAUTIFUL to say the least ! Fairways are plush. The greens were excellent. To get a phone call like that and to have service like that is truly impressive !
Our bar tender Carolina from the 19th hole was excellent as well.
Very unfriendly staff
It was pouring when we came 15mim before t-time , and guy didnt want to cancel it saying “ we open !! No cancelation at this time “ he was very rude about it !! That we have to wait and see , finally we had manager cancel that . Very unpleasant experience.
Fantastic golf course, this is old Raptor course, redesigned for better golf. Very friendly staff, good price. Love the layout. Greens and fairways are in the great shape.
Really nice but needs a real practice range
I really love this recently redesigned course. None of the holes are too long and the fairways and greens are in amazing shape. There are a couple holes that are too short par 4s. I played the Blue/white split tees at 6,000 yards. I wish they had a real range to warm up on but instead it is just a screened in range with a roof that is too short for wedges. I understand they lost some space with the redesign but a little disappointed in the range. Everyone was super warm and welcoming from the bag drop to the bar to the front desk. Definitely will go back often.
Great Golf Course
Super course and super nice staff. I would recommend playing here.
Went out early and it truly is a beautiful course which will only get better with time due to the initial planting that has gone on.
Great restaurant facility that is bright and airy.
For $100 it’s good value, anything higher there are better courses in the area
Raptor Bay, the predecessor, was one of my favorite public courses I’ve ever played. It was something to look forward to every time I came down to SWF. I played both the par 3 and full 18. Par three was a solid warmup, gave you a good taste at how the greens would play and that’s a great amenity. Shortly after playing the par three I was looking forward to taking some long iron, wood and driver swings at the range. Raptor bay had a massive grass practice facility that was one of the best in the area. Now that is overgrown and you are left with a 80 yard netted range that the pro shop thinks is “adequate”. Knowing this course during peak season is ~$250 a round that sadly not warranted. I remember hearing they wanted to charge $400 a round when they were starting to tear up Raptor Bay. At the start of the round you tee off on the front to a fairly challenging and interesting layout, that I enjoyed. I was excited and had a great time. Little did I know how poor this layout turned out to be. Soon you are met with a mess of a back 9 that made little sense. You tee off on 10 and then need to drive a quarter mile to 11. 11-17 are comparable to your local municipal course. Little challenge or penalty for a bad shot. It really left me in a state of utter disappointment knowing the prestige this course once had. If that is not bad enough, you then need to drive the quarter mile back to 18 to finish your round, smack dab in the middle of two fairways from the other side of the course. For $100 it’s not a terrible round, but I would not spend a dime more. Too many other great public courses with better layouts in the area to warrant it. Hopefully some changes are made in the future.
Bottom line, good conditions and a decent value for $100 but it really should not be more expensive than that. You’ll enjoy the round. One other point would be the tee boxes make no sense. The tips play at 7000, the blues in the 6200 range and the whites at 5800. Need some tee boxes in between these yardages. I’ll be back but only when the price is right.
Absolutely AMAZING
I think this might be my favorite course in SWFL! The course is in amazing shape, the greens are pretty accurate, the fairways are perfect and they built the course to crisscross around the drinks and food so you can always grab something every few holes
