Well over half the greens and fairways were burnt brown and in terrible shape. . Felt we should have been informed of this when making payment .
They are killing the course
They are redoing the course this summer, don’t spend money to come out here, they don’t warn you of this going on in advance. Wouldn’t spend $20 to play out here.
flamingo spring 2022
Do NOT play this course now. They have just killed all the grass and are reseeding it....
it lookslike the surface of the moon and the fairways are like concrete
its a good course but wait till the grass grows back in fall
poor condition without warning
I live locally and have enjoyed playing here throughout the season. However, All the grass was killed off the day before I played and my booking did not supply any warning of radical change. The greens were preserved, however, all fairways and rough were brown and dead. Very few people played so I was sent out as a single and played the 18 in 2 1/2 hrs.
OK Course
The fairways were just treated with chemicals and were burnt . There was little to no grass. Before paying green fees , golfers should be told that the course was being worked on. The conditions were not worth the price of the green fees.
Better info would be nice
The course is about to undergo complete re-grassing. All of the grass was sprayed with grass killer and is brown. It would have been nice to know before paying $120.00 that the entire course was dead!
Nice course
Fun, not so challenging course, great for a couple of guys from the northeast on their first round of the season. Friendly staff. Only issue was the quality and composition of the one set of rental clubs issued.
Good course but always seem to have an issue when playing here
Love the layout and overall challenge this course offers. Long course with LOTS of water and other challenges. Fairways & tee-boxes in overall good shape, greens hit or miss and sand-traps were a wreck. the rock:sand ratio was crazy as well as the overall grooming and condition of them. we ended up making the decision to just not play out of the sand because of the amount of rocks in the traps and the potential damage it could do to our clubs. Great pace of play and substantial amount of water stations on the course. No cart-girl on a weekend was strange and it took about 20 min to go into the club to grab beers at the turn.. pros and cons are about equal for this course, and we rarely play it because of this. Not a bad experience, but definitely better options in the area for the price.
Course conditions
The greens were fabulous but the rest of the fairways are under renovation and will be unplayable very soon
Course was in great shape
I really enjoyed this track. Course was in great condition despite it being the end of the high season. Early Sunday morning tee time meant I had a very pleasant 3-and-a-half hour round. Greens were very hard and fast but true. Overall a great experience.
Pro Shop
The person in the pro shop was not friendly at all and almost rude.
Everyone else was great :)
Take your money elsewbere
We have played Lely several times and had excellent rounds. Today however, we showed up to the tee box several minutes early only to find a group of older gentlemen who claimed they were next to go off which was completely incorrect. Starters did nothing to tell them to wait for us to go off and to stick with their assigned tee time. Absolutely spineless move by a starter. The men claimed they were members and thus felt a false sense of entitlement, and were very unpleasant during our interaction when they were in the wrong…do not join a public-private course if you don’t want to deal with the public component. The assistant pro refunded us but we Will not return here after that interaction and have lost all respect for the staff here.
