Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

Reviews
Nice course
Very nice layout. Excellent greens. Fairways green and pretty good. Three fairways on the back side were thin and quite wet. A lot of fun. Some challenging holes. Best course so far this winter in Sarasota/Bradenton area.
Nice course
Course has many interesting and challenging holes. The greens were in good condition and slightly on the fast side. The course has a driving range, chipping, practice bunkers and putting green all included in the price with free practice balls. Very scenic course with beautiful homes which are far enough away to not worry about hitting them.
Good time
Course in good shape, a couple sorry spots. Nice driving range with free balls. Chipping, putting warm up areas excellent. Had a great time.
Great day
Heavy rains the day before had the course playing soft but still in fine shape. Greens putt nice but are tricky with many subtle breaks. Slow group let us play through which was nice. Friendly staff as always. Will be back
Like the Course - Maintenance Drop Off
I really like playing River Wilderness. The people are great as always. My only issue is that the greens and traps need maintenance. Several greens had a lot of pock marks and the areas around traps were not well maintained or atleast not as nice as the last time I played. Please note, I will be back. Only say the above because I want this course to remain the quality site that it has always been.
Great Course
This was my first time playing the course and had a fun time.
I was the second person out so pace of play was never an issue. It was great because I moved at my own pace without interfering with the group in front or behind me.
Course was a little wet and soggy due to the rain we received last week but nothing that was an issue.
I will be playing here again.
Usually best value on Golfnow
Will drive up from Fort Myers, if the price is right.
Usually in great condition, good layout - some tricky holes 10, 16 & 18 and good practice facilities
What's not to like?
We just like this course. Conditions of fairways and greens were (and usually are) really good. It's not a boring course. It's an interesting layout with some memorable holes. And range balls are included! Such a deal for $32.
So much potential
I played this course once a long time ago and was eager to see if it was as good as I recalled. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. First, the good: 1. the layout is beautiful, although it favors those with a right-to-life ball flight. 2. Course is scenic, with moss-covered live oaks, some elevation changes, lots of birds and at least one big gator. 3. Greens and bunkers were in nice shape. 4. Pace of play was great--well under 4 hrs. Now the negatives. 1. It took them 20 minutes to serve us a hot dog and a drink at the turn; it didn't seem as if there was anyone present that could run the cash register. 2. A much bigger concern was the condition of the rest of the course. Tees and fairways were mostly a mess. And as I noted, while the pace of play was great, it was due to the course being almost empty on a beautiful Sunday.
All told, I'm glad I played RW, but doubt I'll return.
Good Value
With snowbird season at hand greens fees in this region go up 50-75% at most venues. Not so at River Wilderness. Their rates r reasonable for a course in good condition. Greens r fair and in good shape. The course layout is nice and par 3’s r tough. Staff is very friendly. Pace of play is average.
It’s a good value no frills round of golf
1st round
Perfect conditions today. Pace was horrible but it was Sunday and a popular day to play. Layout is well designed, practice facilities are substantial, even the Sunday brunch looked pretty good. One Ted was nearly bare, but otherwise the greens rolled well, fast and weren’t tricked up. The fact the drink cart quit right after we started at 11am was disappointing and the pace of play caused to wait on nearly every home but I would play it again.
Good day at River Wilderness
Course was in good shape after rain night before. Greens were soft but putted very nice. Hardly anyone there but that’s not uncommon here. Hidden gem this time of year. Friendly staff and good practice area too. Will be back
Above average
River Wilderness is an above average course in terms of condition, layout and degree of difficulty. A fair challenge for the average and above golfer. Great value at $30
Great Course
The course practice facilities are second to none. Driving range, chipping area and massive putting green. We teed off at 2 pm. We encountered no delays. The course was in great shape. Greens were fast but fair. The 14 through 18 holes (except for 17) are a challenge. We plan to play this course again very soon. We did not use the off course amenities but the restaurant and bar looked awesome.
Wow!
The course was in excellent condition. The greens were in excellent condition and rolled true. The course was difficult but fair. It is the closest to a Myrtle Beach course. The fairways were excellent and several holes such as 15, 16 and 18 were very challenging. We will definitely play here again. We did not use the any off course amenities but the restaurant and bar looked awesome.
Vince
Course conditions were good, pace of play was horrible with several players who struggle were slower than pace expected.
Nice course layout
Some holes had hidden hazards for the first time player
