The Club at River Wilderness

Played a lot of not-so-great courses while snow birding but this was the worst. T boxes in bad shape, fairways, if lucky to find a sliver of grass, and the worst THE GREENS. And I should have figured out when I drove in, and parking lot was just about empty. If you play it after you read my review, don't say I didn't tell you.

Fairways were in good shape as long as you roll the ball. Rough was all sand and weeds and the greens were very patchy and bumpy. Some bare spots on the greens. I've always heard courses make their money on greens so it was very disappointing.

Good course, friendly staff, decent range, and great benefit of the GPS in the cart.

None of the greens were even remotely close to be acceptable. They seem to not have been watered for months and there was so much fungus, sand, crevices, etc.

Stuck with two macho men who should take golf lessons, They were all over the course with each shot and held up play. Need to learn manners as well since they played their radio and one was on his cell phone constantly. Talked loudly while the one woman was teeing off as well as when she was in the fairway (the few times they placed their shots in bounds! Fairways and especially the greens needed watering. Too bad as the area was scenic with some great homes.

Love the course layout and fairways but they need to water, sand and roll the greens. Hope they get their liquor license back. Great bar

Course is not worth a single penny in the current shape, greens are dead and uneven, if you aren’t in the fairway it’s basically sand/weeds you’re hitting out of. Go elsewhere.

Staff was personable and helpful. After golf we had a round ending beverage in the bar. Mariah was awesome..big smile, engaging. .

Unfortunately, currently River Wilderness is in very poor condition. Greens are very poor - dry, spotty, and bumpy. Fairways also baked.

The course has really gone downhill the last few years. It could be very good, but it will take time and $$ to bring it back.

This is mainly for course conditions. The staff is always great here so no complaints. Until the snowbirds leave, pace of play is horrible no matter where you go.

The fairways aren’t horrible but I’ve seen them better. Irrigation does need to be addressed as many fairways were just soppy. Not to mention people just spin tires in there to make it wore. Come on people! The most atrocious part was the greens. Between the bare spots, pitted sand, and weeds you really don’t enjoy the greens. They are usually tricky but now it’s like an obstacle course from fringe to hole.

I say, make your money and then close it down for 2 weeks to get it back to what I was used to here. Fun course when it is better.

Lovely course but it is not as well cared for as it has in the past. Greens were really in need of care

Fairways and greens but likely due to drought like conditions course was pretty rough

Lost a few balls rolling off the fairways into deep clover patches that consume the visibility

Would love to come back and play it in the fall
