Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

Course is very dry and rough
Course was fun to play, but very dry and very rough on some tee boxes and fairways. Most greens were in good shape and fast.
disappointing
So I was looking forward to playing here cause I had heard good things. What a disappointment. The unfortunate thing is the course has potential, layout is good, not your typical FL course with houses crowding the fairway and limited trees, there were actually some interesting holes. But the conditions were just awful. Greens were actually quite good, but remainder of the course grossly neglected. Tee boxes and fairways were horrendous. One tee box had zero grass, it was literally teeing off from sand. Fairways were patchy at best and for the most part were like hitting off sandy concrete. What ever happened to fairway sprinkles? Add this place to the growing list of places I don’t plan to play again due to terrible conditions.
Enjoyed the layout.
A fun layout. Well designed, and knowledge of the course will make a difference in how I will play it next time
Afternoon Delight
The practice facilities here are awesome! Driving range, chipping area and large putting green are easily accessible. We teed off on time and pace of play was good. Course was in decent shape. Greens were consistent and fast. Several tee boxes on the back nine were in horrible shape but overall things were acceptable.
What?
I don't understand. The greens are in the best shape I have ever seen, but the rest of the course is abysmal. Tee boxes non existant. Fairways simply dead grass and hard pan.
Nice layout and amenties
This was the worse condition this course has been in the 2+ years we have been playing it. Many tees had no grass, the fairways were spotty and it is obvious there has been no water applied; especially to the rough which was mostly sand and dirt.
It is a shame.
Invest the green fees into the course
First time playing this course and won’t play it again. The course is tired, and seems to be in need of cash investment. Come up with a course map and layout. The members need to invest in the course , not the paying public. The members are riding on the public play for upkeep, but open your wallets and use your own money. It has potential but there is nothing about the course that wants me to come back in its current condition. For the money I’ll play Waterlefe or Lakewood Ranch National instead.
Best in the area
Played last year and twice this year. Staff are friendly and helpful. Conditions were excellent considering the extremely dry spring in the area. The layout is challenging and fair with good tee options for all. Pace of play was good. A definite choice for golf in the area.
Great layout..... but
The course is a great design , but it is in dire need of maintenance. The greens are in great shape but the rest of the course needs water bad.ly. A few tee decks are nothing but sand and the fairways are getting very threadbare. Hopefully they save this course before it’s too late. Unfortunately it’s not worth the 75.00.
Nice course worth playing.
The course had nice practice facilities to get warmed up before playing. The greens were in good condition and very fast. There are many good golf holes. Course knowledge on some holes is useful, so first timers have some disadvantage. The fairways and traps were also good. There was only one tee box that I remember that was in bad condition. The course is definitely worth playing.
Course was empty, we wondered why, but it allowed us to play at a good pace. We loved the layout, however the course condition was average at best. Too many bare and sandy spots, greens however were receptive and rolled nicely.
Only saw two staff members, one in the parking lot and one in the pro shop. Both were super friendly.
If you can look past some patchy areas of bare grass I recommend the course.... because I like playing at a good pace.
Great layout!
Paul Azingers home track is a lot of fun. Tight fairways and either tree lined or water lined fairways. Bring your best game an you can score on this course. If you are just a bit off target, then you will be bit. The food in the clubhouse was awesome.
Great Layout in Need of Some Help
We enjoy playing this course due to it's layout and greens. We play it every so often during our Winter months stay. The staff is always very good, welcoming and professional. The greens are in great shape and speedy. Sand bunkers are not consistent nor have the same type of sand consistently. Sadly, many fairways and tee boxes need a lot of help. There are too many sandy large patchy areas. One White (Club) tee box was all sand! The sad thing is all the golf courses in the area raise their rates quite considerably during the busy Winter Snowbird season and yet, they do very little to improve or maintain the course conditions in line with the raised rates they demand. A rate of $30.00 to $35.00 is okay with said conditions.
Nice layout in need of care
First time playing course. Layout was great but course in desparate need of work. Greens not too bad but very fast due to dry condition. Fairways hard and fast needing attention (fertilizer and reseeding). Tee boxes in disrepair. Staff was friendly. I heard course is for sale and it will be great course if someone buys and makes the investment needed. Only reason i would recommend to friends is some good good green fees available and they could see the future potential if the right person/group comes along to purchase the course.
Good Challenging Layout
Single digit senior golfer here. Greens in very good condition and roll true. Holes offer variety and challenge and have lots of tee blocks to choose your personal distance challenge. There are a couple of doglegs carved through trees, mixed with palms. Lots of fairway bunkers and water but not a tight golf course. Wind is a factor, in a good way. Alligators and Sand Hill Cranes are abundant. Staff are excellent and make you feel welcome. Practice range is included, and is fine. Putting green is good and represents the course. There is a chipping green near the first tee. Well worth the money.
