Shingle Creek's par-4 12th is one of the new holes, which Thad Layton and team knitted adeptly into the existing course. Big fan of this bunker cluster. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 10/27/2017

18th bunker and green Photo submitted by REFRUG on 07/06/2014
Love the layout of this course. Greens were extremely slow, and fairways were a bit rough. Other then that great time.
Nice Course
God overall experience. Greens had been aerated a few weeks prior still impacting quality of greens, but still good.
Not what it looks.
Everything great people amenities hotel etc.
Beautiful scenery. Looks green and lush.
How ever when you get out there, the greens are rough, the near green areas are very bad more mud than grass.
But worst of all was the fairway. Strange mixture of soil and sand like some driving ranges.
Playing wedges in you had no idea what you were going to get. A soft Sandy lie or a nice firm grass lie.
Made some shots 30 yards short others 20 yards over the green. So disappointing. Chipping very tough off mud. So many players using their putters from 10-20 yards off the green from the 6th hole on as we had all learned out lesson.
Such a pity as everything else was great.
Summer Golf
Great course , only complaint is the greens were recently punched. Prior notice would have been appropriate for anyone considering this course
Air Rated
I Have played this course four times before and it was in wonderful condition to go along with the great layout. This time the greens were being aerated and the fairways as well. Upon arrival I was told I had to play the front nine twice for the back was closed again the conditions were pretty bad. If I had known these conditions in advance I would’ve never played the course at any price. Again I understand aeration is necessary but would’ve just love to have a heads up.
Great Resort Course
This is a great resort course with all the amenities you would expect. Amazing course design and terrific clubhouse and course staff. One note of caution, however: The course does not drain well. So after any one of Orlando’s many summer or fall rain storms, expect standing water and cart-path only play. But when conditions are sunny and dry, your virtually guaranteed to have an enjoyable and challenging round!
Duped
Course advertised that the greens were punched over a week ago. Fair enough. Never mentioned the course was punched or that it was CPO for the back nine. What are you going to do once you drive 40 minutes and show up for your tee time? They should’ve discounted the price even more especially for the course conditions and CPO. When I asked about it they said I didn’t have to play.
Aerate
Just aerated this week. Not just greens but fairways as well. Of course no alert on GOLFNOW.. Wait a couple of weeks.
Currently Air raided
The course Great! But the Back 9 is Cart Path Only and recording Fairways. Front 9 was Great! Greens are Air Raided and sanded.
Give Her a week to grow back. She booking Pretty Again.
Bad timing
I have played this course five times before and never had this type of experience. Back nine was closed due too maintenance and front was played twice . Greens and fairways were air rated and just a big disappointment for this trip , I was looking forward to the round .
Beautiful Course
The only thing wrong with this golf course was the address on Google map incorrect and the driving range not associated with the clubhouse area. The clubhouse was exquisite I love the sunken bar. The putting green chipping cream from the Teebox to the fairways to the greens and the bunkers is a great course
Only Back Nine open today
They were Aerating the front nine greens today. So played the back 9 twice. Round was under 3hrs. Outside of not knowing the front 9 would be closed how can I complain about a 3 hr 18 hole round.
Shingle Creek Special
Hey guys the course is under repair and only nine holes open.
Course Under Maintenance
I have played course 4-5 times before and I love it. However, when I looked on line for this most recent round, nowhere did it say that 9 holes were closed and the 18 holes would be played by playing 10-18 twice. While I enjoyed it, I am very unhappy with both Golf Now and Shingle Creek for not pointing that out on the web site. Please consider making that known up front in the Hot Deal promotion (I know I have cautions like that before with other courses).
Great Layout
Except for having a bunch of high school kids in front of us qualifying for a high school golf team everything about shingle creek was great. The course the tea boxes to sandboxes the fairways everything was immaculate.
Slow Pace/Nonexistent Rangers
This course is notorious for 5 hour rounds. The time before my most recent visit I sat I a tee box with 4 other groups on the back nine and watch 3 foursomes quit. It was the only reason we finished in 5 hours. They don’t manage pace of play and rangers don’t exist. I didn’t see a single ranger yesterday, the last time I played I did see one under a tree, he might as well have been taking a nap. This is why as a local, I rarely play here. I was given the drive club spiel while checking in since I’m local and I declined. Truth is, I’ve been a member before but it’s not worth it if pace of play is so slow. We returned yesterday with the first tee time of the day at 7:00am for my fathers birthday, it is after all, an awesome course to play and what could go wrong if we’re first out. WELL, they apparently sent family with a small child out on the back at 9am. We immediately saw that outright sub 4 hour round was going to turn to 5 hours with how slow they we’re playing. I called the pro shop twice and both times they said they would send someone out to deal with the family in front of us and apologized. Nobody ever showed up. This is exactly why despite being one of the closest courses to me and playing nearly every weekend that I only visit Shingle Creek once every year or two. Always hoping for it to be different but it never is. It’s a nice layout, great condition, excellent staff, but the pace of play is consistently miserable.
