Water, water, water!
It appeared that water was everywhere. The course is fun, scenic and you have to really think about your shots. There were several holes that the driver was left in the bag due to the need for accuracy. Due to that issue, I played the course better than I expected. All in all, this is the best course in the PCB area in my opinion.
Good day for gold
Course was in good shape. Greens were bumpy, causing ball to bounce which hurt pace and direction. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice to have range balls included with fee. Played a threesome in 3.5 hrs. Beverage cart not available for the afternoon. Front 9 does not return to clubhouse and bar closed before round was completed. Need to stock up before you start your round. Will play this again. Very challenging from Tee #2 for seniors.
Nicklaus design
Tough course but fun! Bay views are great in some areas.
Nice layout
I play a lot of golf and play everywhere.
This was a nice course layout. It’s early to have good conditions so I would hope they improve.
The play was very slow and the members in front could care less.letting them out and walking to boot.
I don’t care if you play really bad golf but don’t do it slowly.
No ready golf.
Rangers down here are afraid to say anything to anyone.
This would be a much better course at 75 dollars and not at 120!
Water, Water Everywhere
All previous reviews are right on point (pun intended) - nice clubhouse, friendly and helpful staff, electric carts, generous fairways, true rolling greens, fluffy bunkers, etc.
My problem and frustration - there's water everywhere! From the bay to creeks to ponds and lakes, every fairway or hole has water (or swamp) to either hit beside or over.
Don't get me wrong you'll have a great experience on this impressive Nicklaus layout that's starting to show it's age.
So, if you're like me and occasionally spray your drives and iron shots you may want to bring extra balls.
Always a great time at Bay Point
Course is fun and challenging. Greens are tough to read but in good condition
Great Layout with Nice Views
Best course in the area. Greens were nice as was whole course. Pace of play was a bit slow.
This course has lots of water!
Generous fairways, very nice rolling greens. The bunkers are as fluffy as beach sand. I loved it!
Great course but staff organization & friendliness needs to improve
This was my 2nd time playing Bay Point, the course was in great shape and we had a good time. My only concern / complaint was with the starter and beginning of our round. He made our 7am twosome hold back 3 tee times (until 7:27) to group up with two singles, saying we would play too fast and catch up to the watering crews on the course. Being on vacation with families waiting on us, we intentionally booked the first tee time of the day to finished our round as early a possible. Being forced in to this delayed foursome was an extreme inconvenience for us and delayed our day. When we pushed back on the starter's directions here, he got frustrated with us and blamed the "already printed tee sheet." Not sure where the disconnect is at Bay Point, but these details need to be managed better. I will say, the pro shop and cart attendees were very friendly - so probably just a problem with the starter we had.
Best option in PCB
I walked the course with a local 3-some. According to them, and my research, this is the best option in PCB. From arrival, the clubhouse was pretty nice, the staff was 10/10 and had great rapport with the locals. Very easy to find the first tee, putting green and range. For the cost and the location, the course was in good condition. Bunkers were all fantastic. Greens were relatively fast. Quite a few holes had fun views and only a couple were unexciting. Can't beat it.
Rainy days and Mondays
Even though it was rainy, the course played well. The greens rolled true and the traps were wet sand on top but white fluff under. The entire course drains very well! I will definitely play it again next time I'm in Panama City!
Love this course
Best course in Panama City Beach, and they know it. This is also the most expensive course in PCB. Great place to have and play in tournaments.
