very nice local course
from tee to green course in great shape. a little slow play, but not a major issue.
Played Sunday 9/15
Course was in good shape. Not too crowded. Last time I played there it was a swamp but no cart restrictions this time. It would be good if hole 9 ended by the clubhouse rather than in the neighborhood but I already knew about that. Normally a pretty good value
Best Course In Area
This course is in wonderful shape, the greens roll like carpet, they are fast.
The maintenance crew and Supervisor do a fantastic job keeping the course in top shape.
The on course restrooms are clean and newly renovated.
The pro shop staff and pro will make you feel welcome and all carts are in great mechanical condition.
After golf you can refresh yourself in the Blue Heron restaurant and relax with friends.
Great course, recent aeration
Course has recovered from the heavy rainfall last month. Fairways are in great shape. They were mowing the rough as we we played today and getting it tamed. Although the greens were spiked and sanded yesterday they weren’t too bad. They work hard to maintain this course. All the tee areas were in great shape too.
Great outdoor
Greens in great shape fairways good dont go in rough ball sinks down in hard to find. Appreciate had cooler on cart that you can fill with ice to keep drinks cold
Wet after the storm
Lot of balls plugged all over and they have not been able to cut the rough which is really long. Greens were good, they are spike aerating (Sept 9) plus rolling which will make these greens perfect in maybe a week or so. New tee box on 13 is a good idea for this hole, it also needs to be rolled. It’s curved at all the shoulders for water run off. A center drain/pipe running out to will allow it to be more flat and less maintenance.
Great day for golf
With the rainy conditions we have faced this summer, this course was exceptional. Grounds well manicured, fairways lush. Greens better than most except for the hole cut. Sharpen the hole cutter blades. Hole edges torn and bumped up. Gosh what a tough time to putt in. Could by my skill also!, Overall, very impressed with course, staff and quick round of golf. Definitely worth the 25$ August rate. Better than most courses in area
Great coirse
Challenging course
Friendly staff
Excellent greens and fairway
Rain out ;-(
Although we were rained out after 9 holes and the course was wet/sloppy from previous rain it was another great time at The Great Outdoors. Friendly staff, interesting layout with lots of water (that is not hard to avoid), all in all a good choice of venue.
WET, WT, WET....
Just too much water, unfortunately this is a low area and drainage is poor. Given the rain that has recently fallen it has no place to go.
Fairways are very wet, you will be hitting out of water on most of your shots. Not the best conditions for this course, otherwise it is a good course.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Your feedback about the course is important to us. With the recent rain we are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens from the water on the course. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Great Outdoors RV & Golf Resort. We hope to see you again soon.
Live there and love it
As a member I try to play at lease 3 times a week. I have played the course every year since 1991. I have continued thru the good years and bad but since Shane has come to our course as greens manager it has improved every day.
He has turned the course around to being 1 of the best in Florida.
Lush Fairways and Wonderful Greens
Play here as often as we can. Staff is super friendly, rates are very reasonable and the course is always in great shape.
Be prepared to see alligators and please remember they are wild animals. Keep a safe distance.
The restaurant is very nice, and offers anything from sandwiches to full course meals. Full liquor license.
This is one of the few courses where I can actually win against my husband and son, women's tees are are in perspective to the mens.
Nice layout-a bit wet
Played on a Saturday, early tee meant that there was 1 group ahead. As a single, used to waiting, but it went quickly. Course was VERY wet. Most of the fairways should have been 90 degree or cart path only. Decent layout, some tricky water locations, and narrow tees. Significant overgrowth on the rough-and they were mowing on a Saturday. This was all probably due to heavy rains, but I would avoid this course next time if it is this wet. Good value at $25, but not worth much more than that. Greens were slow, but in good condition, soft.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Nice turf
Greens, tees, and fairways in great shape. Played at 9:30 on a weekday, some groups were slower but not too bad. Many homes alongside the course. Allow a few extra minutes to get through gate and slow speed access road.
Wonderful Round
First time playing after hearing great things from a number of fellow golfers. Greens condition exceptional, speed and consistency. Nice layout with plenty of water to keep your head in the game. Only complaint was the traps needed a loving touch. I’d go back again!
The greens and fairways are awesome. The layout is good not great.
