Regatta Bay is under rated. They have made great strides in improving course conditions. They staff is excellent and makes the experience like an exclusive private Country Club. The greens were slow from aeration but were healing nicely and still lots of fun.

Consider playing to gold tees instead of the white tees unless you are 8 handicap or better.

Fun course to play, greens were aerated couple weeks ago, will play again soon. Starter was nice. Everyone helpful.

In fairness, the course was getting ready for the summer craze by doing a lot of construction, but there's a 4-5 hole stretch where some of the tree and construction projects really change your experience. The greens were aerated about a week ago but they rolled fine. I shot an 82 from the tees up from the tips and the course played somewhat challenging.

I've reviewed a couple of these courses now just to give some honest feedback for the golfer who is a mid handicap but look for GREAT experiences at really good golf courses. 2 years ago, Kelly Plantation, Regatta Bay, and Indian Bayou were the premier in the area unless you were incredibly rich and had access to private courses. Times hav exchanged in a big way. these courses have almost doubled in price and honestly from my estimation, gone down in quality considerably.

Multiple fairways had extensive dead spots, the tee boxes weren't in great shape and around the greens were average at best. This is an honest opinion. Play these courses ONLY IF YOU GET A DEAL. Otherwise, seriously, play Windswept Dunes or Rocky Bayou. For your money, they will be what you come to 30A for. Not as high quality, but a great value mention are the Baytowne Course. Hitting off mats at the practice range was unexpected and when the actual turf looked good I was puzzled. The greens had just been punched and were horrible. We have played there before and liked it. The club should have been upfront about these issues when we scheduled

It’s an expensive course but took advantage of aerated greens for lower green fee. It was phenomenal. Aerated greens there are better than most courses in the area that are not aerated. It was a phenomenal day, Great course design. You really have to think your way around. I’ve played 30 courses in the area and this is No. 1.

From the time I dropped my clubs off till I putted out on 18 I enjoyed the course greatly.

Service at bag drop and pro shop was very professional and friendly.

Greens were a bit rough but they had aerated only a week a go.

Course is tight in some places so bring enough golf balls and don’t let your ego be too big.

A course rating of 136 at 6000 yards should be fair warning to bring your A game.

The greens just got aerated so that was disappointing and nobody notified us so we could have had the option to cancel or switch to a different course. But overall it was a great outing

Green aeration a few days before kept it from being perfect. They advertised the condition of the greens prior to booking so I knew it wouldn’t be ideal.

Just punched the greens. Told no one. Staff checking was absolutely arrogant Will not play again.

Came out for a single round on Saturday morning 5/6. Booked for the 8:51am at $123. When I checked in I was reminded that the greens had just been aerated and was told to come back to the pro shop if it was egregiously bad for an adjustment.

What they did not tell me was that (1) they had just verticut and aerated all fairways and as a result I’d be hitting out of hay in the fairway all day. In addition (2) the collars of the greens on the back 9 are mostly sand and weeds and (3) none of the punches on the greens were correctly filled. Some holes were half filled while others had piles of sand sticking out of them. I completely understand they had already adjusted the rate from the normal $189, and that aeration does cause some bouncing even when done right. But the amount of inconsistency from green-to-green, when coupled with the deteriorating conditions of this course (compared to when I played in 2021) are on par with a moderately manicured goat farm. This course used to be great but hasn’t been taken care of for the last 2 years.

Taking this into account, I returned to the pro shop to request the adjustment that was promised when I checked in. When I asked the gentleman at the counter to speak about an adjustment, I was told that I had already gotten it on the front end and that there was nothing else they would do. When I had asked why they promised to provide an adjustment when they wouldn’t, they told me that the price was already adjusted and that I should be grateful to be here.

Overall, this visit was a severe disappointment. While the course conditions were passable, the combination of an inflated price and misguidance from the staff have guaranteed I’m never coming back.

We were a twosome and requested going before 3 women and a man. On the last 4 holes they talked by their carts and wouldn't advance to next hole. We waited an average of 20 minutes each hole as it grew darker and chilly. On 2nd last hole we just left the course. As slow as they were it was getting dark and we knew we wouldn't get done. They looked at us like we were crazy when we drove around them. We paid $200 and expected to complete our round. That 4 some ruined our experience. If the starter would have heeded to our request we could have finished in 4hrs. My husband is a 4 handicap and we play quite a bit of gold so understand pace of Play.
