Conditions amazing
1st time playing here. A little pricey and expected some issues with conditions due to hurricane recovery but……other than a couple of holes on the back nine that were cart path only allowing grass to fully grow in, the quality of the grass was amazing every where (greens, fairways, rough and and tee boxes) The cart path holes as well other than a few well marked GURs.
Don’t be fooled by the short yardages on the scorecard and think you’re ready for the tips. Tell the started your handicap and kind of pled you are and he’ll set you up…..or get humbled. As a couple of trips a year guy to the area, this will be on our list next year for sure.
What great layout
I played it 7 time in the last 2 months and loved it each time.
Fun course- USA wins the gold medal!
The course was broadcasting the hockey game on the loudspeakers!! We had a blast! Greens in great shape. Patchy spots in fairways especially on back 9. Pace of play was right at 4 hrs. We needed a cold suds after the round but bar was closed due to private event. Since I paid in excess of $170 for the round, I thought I would have a couple of beverage options after the round. The young dude in the pro shop was a bit snarky but the cart barn / starter were super friendly.
Water, water everywhere!
The course is challenging because there is water everywhere. My approach to each hole was to play the holes shorter rather than risk flying to far, too left, or too right. I lost a sleeve of balls due to water hits, but it was a fun day and a good course. I look forward to playing again hopefully next week.
Good greens, friendly staff.
Beautiful day, the greens were in great condition, fast but not punishing. Moved along nicely, finished in just over four hours.
Great day on Sanibel
Paired with a couple from Chicago. All of us had a great time. There were a few repair areas on some of the holes, but all the greens were in great shape.
Sixsomes are Allowed
The first thing I need to address is that we were behind a group of six. It appeared to be three generations of a family. Not everyone hit every shot but they all went to the green and putted. The manager said he’d send out a ranger. That didn’t happen. We had to call again. The staff member said the group would let us play through. When they left , that didn’t happen.
The greens are the best part of the course. That’s not saying much.
Cart Path only one many holes because the fairways are in such bad shape.
Not worth $200 by any means.
Play the blue or white tees if you aren’t single digit handicap
I played from the black tees so every tee shot was demanding. My index is 14.1. When I play Here again I will try the blue tees. I did not have my A game and lost two sleeves during the round. We played behind a group playing a tournament so we waited a bit. They have a water range and practice green
Not worth the money!
Course is in rough shape and they had mowers going why we were playing!!
Dunes at its prime
The course is in very good condition. The greens are noticeably improved with healthy turf and no fungus infected dead spots. I found the greens slower and without a grain. There are areas of fairway mostly on the perimeter and near cart paths that are barren but these spots don’t affect play.
Beautiful course, lots of water
Great course on beautiful sanibel island. Tough course due to water on most holes. Greens are being redone but still roll nice. Tee boxes were in great shape. Would definitely play again
Worst Greens Ever
I’m 65 years old and a 6 handicap. Been playing golf for 50 years and have never played on worse greens. Grounds crew should be ashamed and embarrassed!
