South Florida gem
What a great course in a great condition! The course is challenging with the layout and distance therefore choose your tees wisely. The fairways and tee boxes were in a very good condition, greens were awesome! I’d say overall it was on par with Trump International Doral but I liked Crandon better based on the setting and layout. I got to see two crocodiles which was a nice bonus.
Very disappointed
When I went to book this course, I thought the third beautiful view of the ocean around us. But there’s not The trees block the view of the ocean The fairways were pretty rough condition. The greens, the sand traps and lakes were beautiful. Lots of iguanas which we need to see
Always a fun course
I had not played Crandon in a couple of years. Course was in good shape and the staff are great. Not sure when they went up on the price but 225.00 during the week is a little steep.
Pleasantly surprised
Based on some of the reviews I was strongly considering cancelling g my tee time. We are tourists and arrived early for breakfast, staff was so friendly and breakfast was great. Also ate lunch after our round and the food and service was great again. To be honest, I am a little bit of a golf snob, played some of the best courses in the world. This course is challenging , amazing layout and beautiful views and lots of wildlife. Yes , the course has a little wear and tear , but overall I strongly recommend this course. Don’t believe the negative reviews. All of the stafff was so friendly and accommodating. Especially the female starter.
Course in good condition overall greens rolling good but a bit on the slower side. You can still see they're still renovating some grass around the green on some holes.Saw 2 gators on shore so if your not a fan of them consider going elsewhere.
First round on renovated course
Front 9 open, back still awaiting opening after renovation. Course in overall great shape for recent renovation. Greens still sandy but fair. Layout great. Pace of play great. Value even better
Mel
Booked through GolfNow as the website directed us. Since only the front 9 is open, then charge you for 2 “nine holes”on the front but once you get there, they dont have an opening for the second 9 holes. Staff was extremely rude, from proshop to driving range ( boss lady there, beware😳)
Drastic Decline
Once great course, has declined to just another municipal course with zero attention to pace of play and ranger’s monitoring players and groups jumping from hole to hole. The front desk staff are polite, but lack the skill set to run a golf course. Course is still pricey, but no longer with it. Would recommend playing another course in south Florida, the drive will be worth avoiding the 6 hour plus round at Crandon.
Upgrades
I was impressed with the upgrades to the cart paths and especially the greens some of the nicest in South Florida right now
We were not able to play because there was a tournament. !
Always my favorite-but only 9 Holes
Crandon is a favorite. It is challenging and fun.
The greens were very good, fairways good, speed of play good. I recommend.
Expensive for 9 holes but worth it.
Beatiful course
I enjoyed a lot everything. The place, the people who work there. The enviorment. The greens. Perfect day in a perfect course.
No golf cart allowed
I’m super disappointed with this reservation. It was clearly stated in my reservation that it included a golf cart and I paid for it (it was included in the price). However when I checked in at the pro shop the staff told me no golf carts were allowed in the course for the round (walking only) so that I had to play the full course walking.
That’s why I want a partial refund for this incident on my credit card, please.
