Sunday Golf
The course was in great shape for early March although the day was quite windy. The problem was that the course had a shot gun start golf tournament in the morning. Some were still finishing the tournament as we played which resulted in slow play. The restaurant was closed which meant we could not get drinks for our outing prior to playing. The only saving grace was that the cart lady was available and provided excellent on course service. My wife and I enjoy playing at the Slammer and Squire. We also enjoy eating lunch in their restaurant prior to play. But had I known that they were hosting a shot gun start tournament that morning I would have played elsewhere to avoid any interference. I truly enjoy playing this course and will return. But it would have been nice to know about the tournament ahead of time for better planning purposes.
Great Course
As always it was a treat to play. Conditions were wonderful. Loved those apples!
Very Nice but Too Costly
The course is laid out beautifully and is in very good shape. PLayed the blue tees at 6500 and water really did not come into play. Greens hold well and are not fast. Played thru 3 groups so play was fast - had I been stuck behind a couple of the member walking groups it would have been slow..
Check in is very pleasant and the apples on 1 & 10 are a really nice touch.
Very nice course but I would never pay full price so would only play again with a great golf now discount.
Spectacular experience
The only Palmer Nicklaus coarse in the World!
Need I say anymore?
Great Track !!!
In wonderful condition and great pace of play even on a Saturday. Super friendly and attentive staff!! Well worth the play!!
Slammer and squire
Course was in great shape. Greens were excellent. Pace of play on front 9 was very slow. Great golf course i would play again
Great Track !!!
Wonderful layout and in great shape. Well worth the $. Most enjoyable all round!!!!!
Expectation and Reality Clash
1). Map GPS route for Bear & King lead to a deadened street.
2). Bear and King course not integrated with World Golf Village proper.
3). Unbeknowns to me, the course was under substantial repair.
4). Only the back 9 was available for play...played it twice in under 3 hours.
5). The back 9 was also under repair in places, so if you landed there you had to move your ball out.
6). I was charged $100.00+ for half a course?
Only 9 holes open
It was a great experience but we weren't told only 9 holes were open for play until we arrived for our tee time. The staff was awesome got us out at there sister course slammer and the squire. It was awesome as well. Looking forward to playing 18 holes next time
Last minute booking
We didn't know we were going to play golf til the last minute and was able to get on. In fact we got out a little early. The course was in fabulous shape! Fairways, greens and bunkers all good.
Nice course, SLOW play
I was visiting the area and having seen advertisements on TV was delighted to have the opportunity to play the Slammer & Squire course. Warming up on the driving range and putting green was great, and we teed off on time...then the waiting began. We had to wait 5-10 minutes for every shot. Upon walking to each green, you'd have to wait for the group in the fairway to clear as they were waiting for the green to clear. Asking a marshal about this, he replied "that's Saturday golf for you".
Sorry, I don't accept this! Courses charge a premium for weekend and holidays but don't offer anything for that extra charge. How about longer tee time intervals on busy days when the fees are higher? I wouldn't have thought a course of this caliber would play like a $20 muni on a weekend.
After 11 holes we quit - the back nine was even worse.
Nice track
Good layout , great shape , good challenge even from front tees.
