Very impressed, beautiful scenery and course conditions
The course was in great conditions. Some of the tee-boxes were not perfect, but fairways and greens were great. LAKEMONT was a beautiful course, scenery was spectacular but it was very hilly and strenuous. Would play again!
C’mon Stone Mountain :(
It’s Saturday and the tee sheet is wide open on both courses all day. There’s a reason for this. The course conditions are bad, like $35/round bad. Add the $20 fee to get in the gate(which should be comped with golf round purchase) and you have an extremely over valued course. It’s one thing to pay +$100 round and the course is nice but this ain’t the case. Driving in you’ll see dirt in the fairways and “bunkers” on the greens.
This course has a lot of potential, as they have the amenities, layout, and practice facilities to be worth it but it’s just like the other public courses in the area, but twice the price.
I’ll continue to use the practice facility because it’s the closest to home and the key fab for the ball kiosk is convenient. But none of these courses in the area are getting my money for a round. I’d rather drive east where the course/cost ratio is much more balanced.
Great Day on the Course
Practice facilities were a little rough but the course was in great shape. Made for a pretty good day overall.
Way overpriced; pick a different course
It was a $117 round however the course condition was on a $35-40/ round course. I would not play there again.
Loved the layout and hills. The people were very organized and friendly. The water made it very challenging.
Meh
For $109.00 I expect a course that is in much better condition. They've really let both courses slide. $50? Ok that's a fair deal. $109? Nope not worth it.
Embarrassment to atlanta
This course has the potential to be beautiful with the lake and Stone Mountain. The staff is friendly too. Unfortunately the hole designs are absolutely stupid, the conditions are HORRIBLE and it’s expensive, PLUS you have to pay to enter the park.
None of us will play it again
There were several greens that had bad areas but the fairways were in pretty good shape. I would not pay over $50 for this course.
Good & Tight
Beautifully done. Tight fairways as if there's armed guards over & around them. Immaculate greens and grounds. Like the rock itself, Stonemont's a hidden gem...
Beautiful Lakemont course /setting. Brutally slow play? Terrible teeboxes, some fairways.
Really beautiful setting on edge of lake. But brutally slow play on Sat morn at 11am tee off. Over 5hr/10min. No marshalls. Back nine Lakemont tee boxes are a mess. Several fairways on front and back have barren ground.
Need to cut price if don't improve.
Pretty course.
Needs to be in better shape for $
I have played this course a few times over the years and it is undoubtedly in the worst shape it has been in. There is no reason the tee boxes should be uneven and full of mounds of dirt. There shouldn't be massive dirt patches in the middle of the fairway. The greens shouldn't force the ball to skip, hop, and jump their way toward the hole on a 10 foot putt. If it is a $35 green fee, it's fine. When it's nearly $100? It's a shame. Won't be back any time soon unless there is a massive overhaul.
