Beautiful Course
Lush and beautiful course. Fast greens. Staff was very friendly and accommodating during our current conditions. Guests, however, did not practice social distancing or wear masks. Few options for zero sugar beverages. $20 entrance fee to the park on top of the golf round was a surprise.
Overpriced
Got the tee time for 50 bucks as a hot deal. Usually tee times here are close to 70 dollars and I don’t understand why. Course was in average shape, lots of dead/sand spots on the green and pace of play was terrible. Staff and beverage cart were great, but much more worth your time to drive further OTP to play for less money and better golf.
Great course- staff
Always enjoy playing here. Customer service great from the time you step on the grounds. Couse in great shape. Lakemont side is very challenging but fun and view is well great.. stonemount side just as good little water in play.
Nice course with some scenic holes.
Greens were in great shape. True and faaassstt.. Pace of play can be an issue. Love to play here. Some difficult holes. Saw black snake near hole #10
Fun course, but over priced
This was a fun course, and I really enjoyed it. I’ve been playing a few times a week lately, and I like getting the hot deals to play the Stone Mountain course. They are always in great shape, and a ton of fun to play. Greens are a little weird, but nothing that would drive me away. Great place if you can get a good deal. $72 no thanks, but the hot deals for $30 totally worth it!
Great course. A few grassless spots on the edges but otherwise well maintained. Greens were wonderful.
Poor Staff Management
Poor communication and I almost called the Stone Mountain Police. Course management treats you very unprofessionally because you booked through Golfnow. Weather conditions were horrible, raining all day and all Stone Mountain Staff stressed were Golfnow Policies and the course is open for play. No consideration that is was constantly raining and not conducive for golf. I informed them I'm very aware of Golfnow Policies and followed protocol of their policies which Stone Mountain kept reiterating we're open for play as course conditions were horrible-wet with constant rain all day. Stone Mountain's Staff proudly let me know that we were not a member of their course and to take my concerns to Golfnow. They stressed Golfnow Policy as if I violated some code of conduct. They staff also proudly stated that they don't make any money off Golfnow and only allot them a few tee times. Obviously, no concessions for any rain-chcecks or future play to enjoy the course and a nice round of golf. My clients and I played, very wet conditions and delays during pouring rain and obviously, our clothes, shoes and golf bags were soaked. We kept a good attitude and enjoyed our time, however, surely didn't get to enjoy a great round of golf. I did speak with the GM Matt Sim of Stone Mountain Golf who expressed and defended their staff's position towards Golfnow. Staff reflects same poor leadership as GM. It's sincerely a real concern there booking through Golfnow which needs to be addressed. Please note this for the records as I promise more issues with other golfers will arise with the same scenario.
Great course and staff
This is my favorite course...2 great courses lake-Stonemount played both but played stone mount this time was great.
Fun Round.... Tough Course.
Another tough round at Lakewood. Fun layout with quite a few difficult shots... You have to bring your A game! In great shape as always.
Tough and Beautiful Course
Greens were tough to read and had some good slope to them. Course was in good shape and played fair. Loved the views and the nature on the course. Would recommend the course. Heads up - $20 entry fee to get into Stone Mountain Park itself. Would recommend the annual pass if you live in the area. It’s only $40 so two rounds of golf or an added trip to hike the mountain makes it worthwhile.
Double charged
Course was great, play often but my experience w/ Golfnow was bad. Showed up for the 5/2/20 tee time and the reservation I booked thru GolfNow did not show up. Stone Mountain granted my time but charged me the greens fee. But so did GolfNow. Was charged $106.90 by GolfNow on 4/27/20 and again by Stone Mountain on 5/2/20 for $105.84. I have notified VISA about this, but need GolfNow to credit by VISA account.
Birdies and bourbon podcast
Played Lakemont last week and Stonemont is in much better shape. Greens and fairways were good. Overall the layout at Stonemont is just better, but more demanding, than Lakemont. I’ll play the Stone before the Lake anytime. Also, if you are thinking of getting out, joes the time with all the recent rain as course is playing long but fair. Cheers
Greens going backwards
I’ve played this course a number of times, the first about a month ago and it was fantastic. Since then, each time I’ve played the greens have got progressively worse. There are weeds and different grasses starting to take over and it’s really quite sad.
Stonemont in good spring shape
Overall a great experience. First time playing the course. Overall quite pleased. Only negative is on top of the tee time fee, they make you pay $20 per car to enter the park. They should suspend this for golfers playing the course. Due to social distancing; we all arrived in separate cars. We don’t make that $60 mistake again. Kudos to the staff. Everything about the golf was great.
