Best in western NC
Staff was excelllent course and pace of play was perfect. They let my wife and I out ahead of a foursome which was perfect. Stayed for lunch and a beer. Cottage surrounded the area would be great for any outing . Don’t miss this one
Always a great experience
As always Brasstown was a true pleasure to play. Even in the dead of winter the course was in really good shape, the greens were true and the sand in the traps well maintained. The staff is always welcoming and friendly and make you welcome from the minute you drop your bags to the minute you leave the resort. It all adds up to one of the recently announced Top 50.
Winter Condtions
Despite being the third week in January, heavy rain the day/night before, the course was in excellent condition. Yes, the Bermuda fairways are dormant, but still great; hardly any divots. Course is relatively open, which surprised me. And it's a golf course, not lined with houses, swimming pools and barking dogs. Greens were in great shape, too. A bit tricky with elevation changes. And the scenery? I would be tempted to sneak a fishing rod in my bag next trip... fish voices in the stream were calling my name.
Great round
First time playing the course. Very enjoyable. A little overcast for the day, but incredible views.
Good pace of play.
Enjoyable round - paired up with great partners for a theeesome.
What a view!
Best views I've ever seen on a golf course. Every hole has mountains to aim at or maybe to distract you. Greens are true, fairways are big and forgiving. Good challenge from the tips, only a few holes have trouble to look out for. Classic links style, so fairway = roll. Tiered greens, so placing the shot is important. Highly recommended! Why are you still reading this?? Book a time!
Great course
Brasstown Valley is one of the best courses I have played. Conditions were almost perfect. It was a little wet because of heavy rain a couple of days before we played, so it was cart path only. That slowed things down, but it was understandable. I highly recommend it...great value, too.
Great views, layout and conditions
One of the most beautiful courses I have played with mountain views and spectacular hole layouts. Will return if ever in the area and have already recommended the course to others.
Awesome course
We get up here once a year and I always look forward to playing here. The course is awesome and always well maintained. The staff is very friendly. They make sure you have a good time. If you are ever up this way make sure you puts this course on your itinerary.
Great round on awesome course
Brasstown Valley is in excellent shape, the grass is lush, the greens are smooth and the views are breath-taking. Go play this course if you are planning a trip to the mountains anytime soon.
state-owned course charges private course fees
A wonderful course. Friendly staff. Excellent Pro. But $69 greens fees for a state-owned course rankles my voter, taxpaying values. So I only play if I can get a GolNow tee time. I don't expect my tax dollars to fund a for-profit golf course.
Superb course!
We have played a lot of courses from the mountains of NC to the coast of SC and this was the best kept course we have ever played! Can't say anything negative about this course! Will absolutely play again!
Great course!
This is a beautifully maintained golf course. There are no tricked up holes, each hole is unique and fair.
Brasstown A fantastic golf cource but greens are too slow
I love this golf course but the greens are slow and the sand traps always need sand from getting wiped out from the rain.
Beautiful course and friendly staff
Course should let first-timers know that "the turn" is remote from the clubhouse....
Great course. Good layout.
Enjoyable course. Not very difficult. Some forced carries. Greens were slow but very receptive.
Course in fantastic shape not a grass out of place
a gem
The course is a 2 hour drive from my home. I try to play it several times a year; it is well worth the drive. There is nothing not to like about Brasstown Valley Resort and Golf. The golf course, the staff, the accommodations, the amenities are all first rate. If you must find anything negative, there may be a little too much fine sand in the bunkers. I love the place!
Great course
Course is very well maintained..... After playing the first hole you think you are going to play a very hilly course. It is for the most part a flat course. Only negative thing is to take some drinks and food with you . There is some water coolers on the course but when you make the turn to 10 you are nowhere near the clubhouse so don't think you will be able to get food and drinks at the turn. Not sure about the weekend but I played on a Wednesday and Thursday and there was not a beverage and food cart on the course either. Overall was a great two days of golf on a nice well maintained course.
