About Callaway Resort & Gardens
Callaway Resort & Gardens is a 2,500-acre retreat in Pine Mountain, Georgia, about an hour's drive from Atlanta. The property was founded in 1952 and today features 36 holes of golf and many more natural and outdoor activities on the grounds to explore. The resort is home to the Lake View and Mountain View 18-hole golf courses, both wind and tumble through the rugged and forested terrain. The Callaway Resort & Gardens is set on Robin Lake, which has a beach area, while there is a robust events calendar bringing arts and entertainment to the property. In addition to golf, there are three pools onsite, workshops, hiking, tennis and a spa. The Treetop Adventure is a series of ziplines and bridges in the trees, and there is also a large butterfly center and birds of prey exhibit. For restaurants, there is a multitude of dining areas ranging from fine to casual, beach and poolside fare. Accommodations range from rooms and suites in The Lodge and Spa; more relaxed cottages with full kitchens and fireplaces; large and upscale villas; and the more affordable Mountain Creek Inn.Facts

Great hole! Photo submitted by dongolf0123 on 04/21/2014
Callaway Gardens is a beautiful rsort.
Callaway Gardens is a scenically beautiful natural area; the Lake View course reflects that.
great course for beginners or seasoned players
I loved this course... Its a great course for beginners as well as seasoned golfers....For beginners, its great because you have wide fairways and its fairly short, but not so short to where a seasoned golfer couldn't get a challenging round if they played from the back tee. Its also gives the experienced golfer challenges because almost every hole has 4 different sand pits surrounding them... The course was fabulous and the scenery was amazing..I will definetly play again....
Enjoyment
Very nice course with excellent staff and pace of play.
Callaway
Greens in great condition. Great value for the money.
Easy course
The course is in excellent shape. Large groups sometimes cause slow play. Staffing is more like public course than resort.
We'll worth it
Staff was extremely friendly and the course was in great condition. We had a great afternoon
Nice Layout
Very nice course. Conditions were very good. Pace of play was excellent on a Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm - didn't wait for 30 seconds the entire round. Played the Mountain course. Had reserved a tee time for the Lake course, but upon arrival staff informed me the Lake course had just been aerated, so they transferred my on line reservation to Mountain. I'd go back - great day.
Not a value or worth the drive
I played this golf course in early August. The golf course is in decent condition, greens are nice, but the course gets play simply because if its name. Just off the fairway on every hole, nothing is maintained. It's unbelievable people pay $100 dollars to play golf out there, not worth the drive if traveling from Atlanta.
worth the drive
Our foursome drove down and played both courses. It was great. Tough but great. We plan to make this an annual event. I only wish that there were more dining choices in pine mountain.
Great course if you can play for $60.
Very nice. This was my first time playing it. Greens were in good shape. We got caught behind a group and had a 5 hour round. I enjoyed the course and would recommend it.
Nice test of golf
Wide fairways are one of the features I enjoyed. Grass was mowed everywhere and the course was green all over. Great shape. I played from the white tees and found that driver was not the best play off the tees. The par 4s are not that long so a hybrid may be your best play off the tee. Short par 4s probably contribute to the lower course rating. Holes around the lake are very pretty and #10 is a good hole over the lake. My undoing was #17, a narrow tee shot with trouble left and right. Enjoyed my round very much.
30th Anniversay Round
Mid-week play at 2:00 on a day when the weather was perfect. Staff in pro shop were extremely helpful and accommodating. Course was undergoing a few repairs due to the rain system that passed through a week before we arrived, but overall was in great shape. If we are in the area in the future, we will stop and play this course again.
New course Callaway Lakeview
Somewhat challenging course. Well groomed, and scenic. moderately priced, and not too far from the city that it could be a day trip, or a weekend adventure.
Very nice course
Very nice background view, greens are in great condition.
Callaway Gardens-Mountain View
If you like sand, this is the course for you. A majority of the holes have a couple of bunkers in front of the green. However, if you can hit the ball in the air, you should have no problems. If you are looking for a nice relaxing round of golf, head to this place. Takes a few holes to get use to the greens (just a little slow), but when you do, they roll nice and true. A couple of par 3's are pretty long, but they are a nice change to the 140 to 150 yard common holes. Water comes in to play on a few holes, which makes things interesting. Staff is extremely friendly.
Fast greens
Lot of fun the greens were not in the best shape but everything else was great.
nice course
better drive it straight; if you do you'll be okay. some greens are a little hard to read
Play this course!
This course may be south Georgia's best kept secret. The course has a fun layout and it's surprisingly scenic. Beautiful views of Pine Mountain, sprawling lakes, winding bridges, and all of this is surrounded by the lush landscaping of Callaway Gardens. Don't hesitate to play this one, you will not be disappointed.
Enjoyment
I always enjoy playing this golf course. It is not long but will challenge those that put the ball in the wrong place.
Course in great condition
Other than having to wait for 15 minutes on each hole (I played as a single and the first 6 holes in 30 mins), after the 6th, the course was in great condition. It was Father's Day and they allowed a 5 some which is okay if the course is quiet but it wasn't. The fact they never once allowed the twosome behind to play through is a disgrace. Their reasoning was they couldn't go anywhere as there were 3 foursomes in front. This is a lame excuse. One of their players even went back to re-tee when he couldn't find his original tee shot. What a joke!!! No rangers so was stuck in 90 degree heat waiting. I shot 77 so it's not that I played badly, but slow play is killing the game and this fivesone is as guilty as anyone.
I skipped ahead and played 17&18 in 10 minutes and went back to play 11-16. It took me 3 hours to play 10 holes. Scandalous.
