Lake View at Callaway Gardens Resort

A few years ago this place was in shambles, but it has improved significantly. Definitely obvious repair work being done around most greens, but didn't disrupt me at all. A bit pricy for what you get, but a fun course with an amazing layout.

Like the course, greens need some work.

But the value was good

The linings in the bunkers are all exposed and the bunkers have not been raked in months. The greens have dead spots, diseased spots and patches of sod that are dead because it wasn't cared for after it was installed. The tee decks are overused and have not been maintained or cared for in months. However, the fairways did have grass.

I've played Callaway Gardens Lakeview course twice. I have had a blast both times. It is a very scenic course and it was a pleasure to play there and my company was awesome.

Enjoying the challenging layout of this course design. It was a little short playing at 6000 yards but you can get back a little bit more on the tease and get it to about 6300 all in all it it was in pretty good shape. And I enjoyed the pace of play, which always makes a round better.

Absolutely beautiful setting and very friendly staff

You would expect more from a resort course. The greens were not in great shape and the fairways were really hard. I would expect the fairways to be hard since no rain in the area in awhile but the greens are a different story.

I cannot fathom any golfer giving this more than a single start review unless they typically play in a cow pasture! Has to be employees of Callaway or they are giving discounts for reviews something is up , it is atrocious.. greens are dead other than the poanna , don’t bother reading a putt as your ball will absolutely not stay on any line it will jump left and right all over the place off the poanna .. the fairways are hard as a rock and the bunkers are unkept and are about like hitting off the cart path with areas of the liners showing through .. had I paid full price for this course I would have pressed charges as it would have been criminal..lol certainly will not be back to this pitiful course.. such a shame as it has so much potential, but literally needs a six figure investment into it at this point..

Calling it a goat track is too nice. This place could be beautiful but it is indeed awful. The greens are actually unplayable. When you put it looks like you skipping stones on the river. It’s so bad a 2 foot putt is impossible because of how much it bounces. Weeds cover the “greens” and “fairways”. Just run away don’t do it…play anywhere else

Drought condition had course playing unusually rough. Greens most effected, sakndy with little grass on several. Always a challenging test for an average golfer.

Course conditions are extremely poor bear spots on the fairways. The greens are basically sand with little patches of grass. However, the sand of the bunkers was perfect. Only paid $26 on a hot deal so that was good.

The course is picturesque and we always enjoy playing here. The greens at present are full of weeds and the fairways were quite muddy and grass was brown. They aerated a few weeks ago. Something must have gone wrong. I am sure they will take care of it and bring the course back to the way it always has been.

A lot of POa on the greens. Fairways , tees, and fairways were all cut extremely short. Green fee and cart wert a lot less because of greens not being good. In another month maybe fertilizer will take affect and it will be better

The greens are showing that the club is in the process of improving them. Everything else is in wonderful condition. My wife and I always enjoy playing here.
