This was the #13 green if i'm not mistaken. Can see how nice the sand bunkers were and how nice the green was. Photo submitted by bryan6804634 on 09/16/2016
TeeTom
Love the course, great layout, really fun to play. The pace was awful unbelievably slow, no course Marshall’s to be found. We had at least 5 or 6 twosome backed up the hole round. As bad and as slow as it was I will play again.
Chateau Course Never Disappoints!
Great layout! Micro-aeration had been done, but greens still rolling well and very receptive. A tee-box for every level golfer! Great amenities!
Clubhouse bar and restaurant excellent!
Tee to green is solid - greens are terrible
As a low handicapper it’s hard to enjoy a golf course with greens this bad. I almost started putting with a 3 wood. Tee to green was solid but the greens were rolling absolutely not the slightest over a 6 on the stimp
Cool course
Course was great. Greens were a little slow and the staff was a little odd. Loved the unique hole layouts.
Played both courses - very fun and challenging
Awesome time playing both courses back to back. Great conditions. Only downfall was food at the clubhouse after the rounds was very slow - took about 2hrs to get drinks food and pay the check. Didn’t see cart girl on Woodlands which may be normal - prepare ahead with that in mind. Other than that - our two groups had a great time spending 12hrs on property all day.
Nice course
My group of three had a fun round. This course is a very good par 3 design but a few improvements would make for a better experience. We wanted to hit balls at the range first but were delayed since the machine was out of balls. The attendant got us some balls but this delayed us and we were not able to hit but a few before we had to go find the first tee. I suggest better signage when you approach the par 3 course parking lot and fixing the tripping hazards and steps leading up to the starters shack which was evidently no longer in use.
The catwalk trail along the lake on #9 was awkward with a push cart and some are not so comfortable being at the waters edge for such a long way. Also better yardage markers on the tees. Also on #9, I hit an excellent shot only to find that the yardage on the card was wrong which left my ball short and wet. One last thing was signs leading you back to the cars would prevent people feeling like they were lost in the woods. It was a good expereince but with improvements, it could be great.
Chateau Elan
Greens recently cored, not leveled couldn’t get any thing resembling a true roll. Every putt bounced its way to the hole regardless of distance to hole.
Surprised how poor the greens remain in late June
The rate reflected the fact that the greens were punched in early June. I thought they would have improved in over 2 weeks but they were still terrible..
Otherwise the course in playing hard and fast..
Some good holes 11 to 15 are best
Love this course but need a heads up on aeration
I always love playing both courses. However, i prefer the Chateau vs. Woodlands. Everything was in good shape except for the greens, as they'd been punched within the last 2 weeks. A heads up (and discounted rate) would've be preferred.
It's been a while
I haven't played here in 15-20 years, but the course was under aeration during my play this week. It was in pretty good shape, but I remember it being in much better shape then. The course was worth the $55 I spent, but I wouldn't have paid more knowing what I do now.
Disappointed
Maybe understaffed, but left a lot to be desired. No cart staff upon arrival. One very nice lady checked us in, but on Sunday morning it was packed and she had no help. Most indifferent cart girl I have run across. Bathroom on the course was disgusting. We had to fix about a half dozen ball marks on every green. No one seemed to fix or rake traps there! Like the course but sure seems to have gone downhill since I played there a couple of years ago. Kind of depressing to see. Not the standards I think Chateau Elan wants to set for the money.
Great course
Unfortunately, we are at the point of the year where most courses are aerating their greens and we played 6 days after they did theirs. Plan to play again when the greens are back to normal.
