About Chateau Elan Winery & Resort
Chateau Elan Winery & Resort is a golf resort located in the North Georgia mountains to the northeast of the Atlanta metro area in Braselton. This 3,500-acre estate is home to a nearly 300-room and suite resort (with a collection of villas as well), winery and four golf courses (one of which is accessible to members only). In addition to two 18-hole resort courses, there is a 9-hole executive course. The resort completed a $25 million enhancement project in September, 2020, the first major renovation since the property opened in the 1980s. The lobby was entirely redesigned and there are four new dining concepts. Additional activities at Chateau Elan include an outdoor pool, tennis courts and culinary studio.Facts

This was the #13 green if i'm not mistaken. Can see how nice the sand bunkers were and how nice the green was. Photo submitted by bryan6804634 on 09/16/2016
It was no good
The tee-up was at 1 o'clock on April 23rd, but we were stuck in the middle of the tournament group, so it was very difficult to wait. It was really unpleasant to put it in during a tournament time.
Great Track a short drive from Atlanta
I have played the chateau course before and loved it so figured it was time to the give the woodlands a chance… the course exceeded expectations. Great conditions and a fun layout that takes you up and down hills. A couple tee shots reminded me of what I see at Augusta on TV. Clubhouse is great and the food it top notch, wish they had a snack station out on the course. Make sure to either stay at the resort or stop by it after the round for a great day.
Mayhem
Positives:
- Really enjoyed the course, lots of thinking on tee shots.
- great condition for this time of year
- nice clubhouse
Negatives:
- check-in, priority given to phone calls, no real guidance on location / access to range, or location of first tee.
- no starter or ranger, group in front of us started late for no good reason
- lady in private golf cart comes screaming down hill in the grass within 10-15 yards of #1 green blasting music, no respect for any of the players whatsoever
- we finished late, so some grace here, but lots of people on the course like it was a park, kids riding bikes into fairway on #18 and walking in front of the green
It’s fantastic
Perfect for short game and it’s a great experience.
Expected More with Chateau Elan Name
My first time vacationing at Chateau Elan. As one of the two resort courses here I had high expectations especially at $125 per player afternoon rate (I know this is the Masters week in GA). Instead:
- no one came out to unload our bags
- we had to pay $9 per bucket of range balls to hit from mats
- it took us more than 5 hrs to complete our round. A group ahead of us called the clubhouse to complain and when no one came out they ended up leaving after 4 holes (hope they got their money back).
- most of the tee boxes and some of the fairways were all torn up
Needless to say, I’m not coming back here anytime soon.
My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves! The customer service and food on point! We’ll be back!
WHAT A JOKE !!!
Played Woodlands course Green Aerated with NO Notification paid $75 for a piece of crap course, Actually came back to play a second time after paying $50 without greens airates 2 weeks ago. Château line should be ashamed of themselves for charging $75 with such poor course conditions was going to join prior to this, but will never come back again.
