It is a nice layout, user friendly.
This course could be so much better if they would find proper mower or hire someone who knows how to mow the fairways, because on numerous occasions I hit the ball right down the middle only to find it in a clump of grass(crabgrass) that had not been mowed! Another observation is that the greens were rock hard, so when I hit a good shot into the green it bounced off the green. I have one last suggestion, on Sunday rounds if you want to speed up the pace of play, put the pins in the middle of the green, to often behind sand bunkers, most amateurs can not play from the sand, so it increases the time of the round.
GREAT DAY
The course was in great shape, the greens were in great shape but a little tough to get the ball to stick
Where's the divot?
Probably the hardest greens I've ever played on and I'm not talking skill, I'm talking feel.... We took multiple approach shots from 100 to 150 yard shots and there were no ball markings whatsoever, which means that when the ball lands it doesn't stop, it just keeps on going, right off the back of the green. The fairways were in ok shape and the layout of the course was fun but with the way the greens are, your scoring chances are slim.
The course o.k. for golfnow pricing
Course in good condition, except the fairways were like a cow pasture.
Course in good shape
I like Fairfield. The holes are challenging but not too difficult. Head on out and enjoy it!
good shape,greens in great shape
We played this course 2 weeks in a row and enjoyed both outtings. Nice layout and great greens made it a fun day. We well be back for their Hit and Giggle Friday night couples 9 hole event.
Tremendous value
Tremendous value. Friendly staff. Greens are in great shape, fairways could use a little attention.
Older style course. Gigantic greens. Wide open fairways.
Played in a twosome and having just moved out this way probably wouldn't make the 30 minute drive to play again. Staff was friendly. Course fairways were lacking grass in a few places. Greens were tremendously slow. Do not plan on letting the ball fall to the hole. You will have to hit it into the hole. After the round found out that they replaced their greens about 1 1/2 years ago and unfortunately lost them due to improper maintenance. new greens crew is in pace to allow them to grow back in. This is most likley the main reason for the slow greens. Would put it on par with West Pines in Douglasville. Fun track but not to challenging or intriguing to play again. Seems to be alot of retirees that play the course since it is located in a "resort" type community. It was a great bargain at 12.00 but probably wouldn' tpay over 25.00 to play here during the week.
Not a bad price, but don't expect a good score.
The course wasn't kept up very well. I wan in a bunker that my feet sunk in, but my club didn't when I took the shot..... my ball was in the center of the bunker and when I hit, I learned that there was only about a half inch of sand on top of hard red clay. Obviously that makes for an impossible bunker shot.
Also....the greens were some of the worst I have ever seen. They were aerated so badly that the ball would bounce all over the place. Putts looked like you were playing "Plinko"
Easy course great for beginners and older golfers. Short track thats fun for all levels of golfer.
Easy course for the average golfer. Short but challenging for all levels and is a good value for average fee. Greens need a little bit of growing in on a few spots but playable.
Course is OK.
Had a problem with EXTREME slow play. Took my 5 and 10 yr old to play 1-21-13. We had to wait on multiple holes to play and was even allowed to play through. Now, that's with my 5 yr old playing his 1st ever round of golf and he hit from the red tees and had to wait on grown men to play. VERY SAD. Called the Club House and got no response to help with the slow play. Wont go back.
Slow Round
A 5.5 hour of golf on any day is miserable. Thank God for the amazing weather we are having this weekend in the middle of January which helped coping with the slowness of play.
The course was decently challenging and has been going through some nice updating. The greens are filling in nicely and the bunkers are being redone as well. No complaints about the course, just the pace of play.
This course has every length of drive from tee.
My son-in-law and I played the course for the first time. We both
were complimentary of the course, and especially the condition of
the greens. It is, after all, the middle of November.
I will return for another challenge.
Relaxing Atmosphere
Fun course; most greens are in good shape and you can see an effort being made to improve the overall course condition. Glad I played it and I plan to return. The course was a little difficult to find but it was worth the 40 minute drive.
Meh
Better courses for the price in the area. The layout is ok, the conditions were ok, but nothing to get excited about.
Your money would be better spent, in my opinion, at Oak Mountain or The Frog.
Great Value!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT VALUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a nice course, very playable and a good value for the money.
It's a nice course with a good layout. Some of the holes are challenging and some easy. One complaint, however, was that the greens (and the surrounding area) were over watered. Several of my bump and runs stopped in the "swampy" fairway in front of the green. A few of the greens also look like they have some mold in them. Overall, Fairfield is an enjoyable course for the money and I'll continue to play it.
