About Hard Labor Creek State Park

Georgia's Hard Labor Creek State Park is located on Lake Rutlege east of Atlanta off I-20. This state park facility features a range of accommodations from camp sites and RV sites to 20 2-bedroom cottages. Amenities here are highlighted by the 18-hole golf course designed by Denis Griffiths and features a pro shop, full driving range, grill and bar. Additional features of this state park, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is horseback riding, off-road mountain biking, hiking, beachside swimming and boat rentals.

Great golf and great value

Fastest greens in the area

Fastest greens played this year. However, they rolled true. Most of the fairways were good; a few had thin lies in spots. Overall, pretty good for this time of the year. It was well worth the trip to get there.

Hard labor creek

Coarse is in much better shape than past times. Still need work on a couple of the greens, especially #15. Sand bunkers have nice soft sand. Great challenging course for the price.

The creek at hard labor

The crew is working hard out there. The greens are in terrific shape. The grounds that are under repair are not an inconvenience at all. Great day on a course that is truly out in the woods. No houses, all outdoor goodness.

Good play but slow

The fairways were green and lush and the greens were fast. Pace of play was slow but everyone was polite and patient which made it bearable. Id play here again.
