Greens were Perfect
Maybe a 12 on the stemp .....really didnt spin on the green but did hold well....couple tee boxes being repaired in spots ...very good shape~! 10/24/12
Can play long...................
The Creek is a track that, even from the white tee's, can "beat you over the head with a yardstick!" It's not so much the yardage on the card....its the up and down lies and a number of greens that are above the fairways on your approaches. It's the type of golf course that requires you to know where to hit it.... so if you are playing it for the first time, it would be in your best interest to play with someone who is familiar with it....if not, you'll be back to try it again! Greens are in good condition as are the fairways. One problem.....watch out for numerous "fireant" mounds. The Creek at Hard Labor is located in a Georgia State Park and can be played at reasonable rates because of that.
Course was in good shape.
The course was in good shape and had fun. I will go back soon.
Course will test your game. Pace is key to putting.
This is a great state course. They keep it up nicely - greens fairways and tee boxes. Good selection in clubhouse. Friendly staff.
Worth the time and money.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The course was very well maintained and the greens were smooth. Beautiful landscape and a bit challenging.
Stay out of the trees!
The Creek at Hard Labor is a decent course way out in Rutledge, GA. My friend and I got a good deal so we made the hour drive from Stone Mountain to give it a shot. It is a challenging course. Tight fairways, elevated greens, and well placed obstacles make this course difficult for any skill level player. The condition is pretty fair. Decent teeboxes and fairways, well kept but slow greens, a course that I would play more regularly if it wasn't so far from home. All that said if you can get a good deal on a tee time I would definitely recommend making the drive to Rutledge.
P.S. It is a state park so the trees are protected, do not take the cart in trees or you will get a talking to by the marshal if caught, trust me, I know from experience!
Very nice course
Holes are challenging, but fun to play. I understand that there were a number of tee box changes for the ladies. These changes are a welcome change.
Not the typical course
The good thing is that is gives you a lot of hole lay outs - some holes it is about club selection - others it is target shooting - and you always want to stay in bounds because the ruff --- is well ruff.
The course is challenging with a new adventure awaiting at each hole.
The first hole is by far the hardest 1st hole I have ever played. Blind off the tee box to a sloping fairway...easy to over shoot the fairway if you do not fade...fade too much and you are in the woods on the other side. Now a 2nd shot probably with a downhill lie going up to an elevated green...good luck and o by the way the green slopes to the front...you must get it to the back.
Get through the first hole and now you have a chance to make something happen. The course is in very good shape and the greens are fast and roll true.
This and all around excellent course!
The Creek at Hard Labor is a diamond in the rough. It is tucked away in the woods of Social Circle but once you find it I promise you will want to play it over and over! Everything is green and the widlife welcomes your company.
One of toughest layouts in North GA. Bring your A game!
Course is always fun to play, although on this particular day the tee boxes on the front nine were rough length and the greens were a little hairy. But the weather was ideal and this is a true shotmakers course. Sometimes the satff is less than attentive, espically if you call there. I guess that's the drawback to booking most of their tee times through GolfNow.com Just need to make their golfers feel a little more valued.
