City Club of Marietta
If not for the turtle-like pace of play, it would have been a great time. The two groups in front of us were extremely slow and we did not see a course marshall at all during our round. On some holes we had to wait at least 15 minutes on the tee box before we could hit. Course is in great shape, greens were running fast but true, and the weather was perfect, so all the makings for an exceptional time if not for the incessant waiting!
Slow pace ruins the day
9am tee time and took just over 5 and 1/2 hours to play 18. It is a waste of a good course due to pace of play always being so bad.
Bag drop buffoons
First impressions count. First course in a while where attendants sit and watch you unload cart. Weird.
Fantastic condition and great course for the money. The only negative is how short it is with a few quirky holes and a lot of blind tee shots.
Course conditions and greens make up for it.
Perfect conditions
I’ve been playing Marietta City Club for the past 20 years, and yesterday’s round was the best yet. The greens were rolling pure and the fairways were in perfect condition.
City Club Marietta
Great course! Pace was a bit rushed. Freshly cut areas with tons of hay needed to be cleared
Great Course
Played here for the first time. Course was in great shape. A few tee boxes were very difficult to get a tee in, mainly 6, but otherwise no issues with the course. Friendly staff. There was a group 2 or 3 in front of us that were a little slow and caused a slight backup at times, but otherwise our foursome didn’t wait around much. Will definitely be back
Best golf in the area
Love playing Marietta. The course is picturesque and lots of fun. At this point the greens are mostly healed from punching and still need a little more time to be 100% but they roll pretty good. Everything else is in great shape.
Staff is very attentive and only wish we could have seen a cart person earlier as it was HOT out there early.
Highly recommended!
Great course
Great course for good value. Mid week feels wide open because it’s so large
Terrific course and great value
Challenging layout. Hilly and target shots. Some very short, some ridiculously long (528 par 5 on #8!). Plenty of shade. Some holes are tight and if poor golfer around, watch out! Friendly staff. Amazing clubhouse, and attached to a beautiful hotel. Highly recommend for the ATL visitor.
Beautiful Course - Impatient Players
I had a wonderful outing at this course except for one thing. During the play two groups passed around us as they were impatient in their play. As a result we ended up waiting on them. I had never had someone pass by me without asking which neither group did.
The course was in great shape and was a great value otherwise.
Bait and Switch
Be careful of the old bait and switch when it comes to rates. I booked a tee time thru Golf Now for 9 holes with my son, Golf Now provides a complete run down of the rates when you book with exactly what's due at the course. I get to the course only to find the rates are incorrect and I end up being charged more than agreed upon. Called the golf pro at City Club the next day and was told that they don't partner with Golf Now and the rates online are incorrect, basically tough luck. Not impressed...also good luck on hole #1 dodging all the random range balls all over the place!
