New greens
I had heard the new greens were an improvement, and they are. However I was surprised to see several already have large bare spots. The greens putt well overall, but the grounds crew needs some training on where to cut holes. Number 10 had the hole cut on a knob, and my putt stopped 4 inches from it and rolled back 8 feet.
Other holes were cut on slopes or at the edge of a shelf. The game is hard enough without tricked up greens.
Otherwise, staff was great, practice green was perfect, and range was well maintained. I’ll play here again.
Nice but tight course
The course was in good shape except for a few spots on the greens. The cart was supposed to have GPS, but we got a defective one. I was disappointed there was no cart person and the restaurant was closed at the turn.
Away from a private club
This is similar to a good quality municipal course
A course for beginners
I’ve played here a few times. It’s an old course with short holes. Fairways very close to the next hole and ppl slicing shots into you a lot from the next hole. Greens are very firm and It’s unable to stop an approach shot. I think the course is very overpriced for what It is. Five hour rounds is common. Marshall’s aren’t monitoring the pace of play. The course is ok for beginners but if your a good golfer I would suggest going elsewhere. I don’t plan on going back.
Read other reviews...there is truth to all.
This was my 1st time playing the course so I read many reviews and had a pretty good idea what to expect.
The course has a little of everything..short and long holes, elevation, water. Course is in decent shape. Not good, not the worse...average greens. Fairways are narrow and zig zag so errand shots will be on the oncoming fairway or green in some cases. Lastly, the cart has geo-fencing gps and will automatically govern (slow down) itself when driven outside of the fence. Sometimes my cart would die but not other carts in my group did not. Nice feature for the rangers I guess, but i didn't like it. Might be good/better for twilight or walkers.
Not worth it
This golf course is EXTREMELY CHALLENGING because you never really know where you're supposed to hit the ball to! You can stand in one area and see 10 flags. The pace of play was horrendous for an executive course and golf carts are terrible. Don't be fooled by the touch screen in them because mine didn’t after hole one. Luckily I used a couple of discounts that I had and only paid $16 or I would have been sick. By the time I got to the 8th hole, I knew I was never coming back!
Great course
This is a great course with a challenging layout and beautiful views of Kennesaw mountains in the background. I really enjoy playing here even if it might be a little slow paced at times.
Excellent Course and Value
Everything about our round (outside of the rain) was great! Greens were very fast before the rain, making it a challenging course. Overall enjoyed the play as usual!
Don’t pay more than $20
This is a $15 - $20 course and that’s pushing it. Poorly maintained with weeds everywhere and dead spots on the greens. The prices are outrageous for the “value”. The course layout is also not challenging and is super short. HIGHLY do not recommend.
Great course!
This is a great course and a great value. I like the layout and the course is in pretty good shape for being public. The staff is also really nice!
Ehhhh, better but, just ok!
Decent course, greens are much better than before but, still not great. Staff was friendly and the restaurant does great things......especially when the grill could be out. There are a couple of awkward holes but the layout is decent. It really needs some love around the details. Maybe I’ll check it out in the fall.
Great course and a safe experience
The team went above and beyond to keep everyone safe during these difficult times. Each golfer in their own cart and modified flags so you don’t have any common contact areas. The course is in good shape. I look forward to my next round here.
