Very Fun Layout
Very different course! Don’t let the the yardage fool you this course is a great challenge! Loads of elevation change and huge, fast undulating greens! The only thing that let it down was the fairway and tee boxes could do with a mow! The greens were excellent. Will come back in the spring / summer! 👍
Bring your A game
Haven’t played this course in a while but now I know why. Range mats need replaced. Mats are old Astro turf wore down to nothing. Like hitting off of concrete. Worst is the course rating and slope on the score card which likely from the 1950s. Played the Blue (back) tees at @ 5721 yds and 67.9/122 per the scorecard. This played like a 74/140 as a ton of elevation changes and highly difficult greens.
I don’t mind fast greens in fact I prefer them, but speed combined with illegal pin placements that are completely unfair, warrant this review. Approach shots demand pro-style accuracy with no room for error. End up a few yards off the green pin high and you are almost guaranteed a double. Many pin placements were along spines that make scoring impossible. Even playing this course from the front tees wouldn’t make a difference.
With all that said the course layout is quite interesting and scenic, but the conditions take you away from the enjoyment of the game.
Bday golf
At first they did not want honor free round of golf on bday but it all worked out.
Nice course
Fairways and greens were in great shape. Greens were very challenging. A few par fours are playing par three as they are renovating tee boxes. So glad to see they are making improvements.
Lovely course
Very nice and challenging course. Well maintained and liked ups and downs.
Greta course. Bad weekend rules
Course is in fantastic shape. Good repairs are being made on some holes. Greens were in great shape. That being said i was informed that Friday through Sunday it is ALWAYS cart path only which is beyond stupid and backwards because it’s the busiest time of the week for the course and it does nothing but slow the pace of play ALOT. They seriously need to change this absurd rule for weekend tee times.
Service
Ultra hilly course
Lots of cart path only holes (at least 7?)
(indifferent+ young?) not very helpful staff on the outdoors in the eve
Woman inside the clubhouse was very helpful and great energy
Good value for money and challenging course due to blind holes, sloped greens and adjustments required for ball placement where they’ve blocked off fairway sections for new sod.
Lost my ball in the middle of the fairway on a blind approach shot over a hill bc the new sod was so high and hiding my ball
Nice Course, HORRIBLE Player Concern
I love this course for the value, but yesterday was horrible. It was low 90 degrees with little wind...it was hot as the devil. We teed off at 4:10pm. They don't allow personal coolers.
We never saw a cart girl and they didn't have any cold water on the course. It was miserable.
If you go when it is hot, take your own drinks to combat the heat. Ignore their no personal coolers sign.
Hot day in ole Marietta
It is a tight course, so you really have to watch while on the tee box because you will go down the wrong fairway. Course was in really good shape but due to a lot of rain in July it was cart path ONLY and that's a lot of walking on a very hilly course. It also really slowed down the pace, 5 hours for 18.
