About Lanier Islands
Georgia's Lanier Islands is a 1,200-acre resort community on a string of islands on Lake Lanier an hour's drive from Atlanta. It has several lodging options, starting with a Margaritaville at Lanier Islands and The Legacy Lodge at Lanier Islands. There are also condo, villa and RV park options. The 18-hole golf course, Lanier Islands Golf Club, is a past selection of the US Golfers' Choice Top 50. Really impressed
Really great experience through and through. Staff was friendly, free range balls, free breakfast, great conditions, greens were excellent, pace was great. Even got three visits by the cart girl in 18 holes

Needs attention to conditions.
Greens were okay but conditions of tees and fairways need attention. Expect more for the price.
Unforgettable experience
It is a beautiful course in a picturesque setting, and quite enjoyable to play! It has difficult shots to make, but it would be fun for anyone! We really enjoyed the snack bar, and our Marshall, Don went out of his way to help us enjoy the experience! I would highly recommend this course to anyone, and I will surely be back soon!

I've been looking forward to playing this course for quite some time because it combines two of my favorite things - the lake, and golf. Even with the highest of expectations, this course did not disappoint. Legacy is easily my favorite course in metro Atlanta, and I look forward to playing there again often, and soon.
Great Course, Great Shape
Played on 4/2/23 in late afternoon with great weather. I have played 5-course in the area in the last month and this was far and away the best condition. Fairways were growing in nicely and greens are in good condition. A bit pricey for late afternoon at $116 with tax and fees but in much better shape than Bears Best which is about the same price. Add in the food and drinks included and not a bad value.
***One big problem is the golf carts. Constantly telling you that you are above the 7 MPH speed limit and that your cart will shut down (and constant beeping) is just plain ridiculous!!! The golf world has survived 50-years without this nonsense on a golf cart. One reason to consider not returning.

Fantastic Course!
This course is not for the faint of heart. It is very technical but such a cool course! The nicest staff I’ve ever seen and the nicest course I’ve ever played. 10/10 recommend and it’s definitely going to be a course I’ll play again!
