About Lanier Islands

Georgia's Lanier Islands is a 1,200-acre resort community on a string of islands on Lake Lanier an hour's drive from Atlanta. It has several lodging options, starting with a Margaritaville at Lanier Islands and The Legacy Lodge at Lanier Islands. There are also condo, villa and RV park options. The 18-hole golf course, Lanier Islands Golf Club, is a past selection of the US Golfers' Choice Top 50. Amenities at Lanier Islands beyond golf include a waterpark and beach area, marina, spa as well as multiple dining and bar concepts ranging from indoors to outdoors and beachfront.

Thanks for the review, we see you marked fair for pace of play. We strive for 4 hours and 15 minutes and use our GPS tracking system to actively manage. Unfortunately sometimes conditions and skill level of golfers dictates a slower pace then normal.

Always A Blast

If I could afford to play this course more often, it would be in my normal rotation. While pricey, the tee time price does include entrance to Lanier Park, food and non alcoholic drinks, and range balls.

The golf course is extremely fun, with challenging shots that make you think off of the tee.

It’s definitely worth it if you haven’t been there before. Just try to play earlier so you’re not having to fix ball marks just so you can putt.

Ball marks have definitely been more of an issue this year. We are unsure why people are not repairing them during the round and are doing our best to fix them ourselves.

SLOW

They were 20 min behind starting groups, and the front 9 still took over 2.5 hours. Finally finished #9 nearly 3 hours after my initial tee time. Not a single sighting of a Marshall or anyone trying to pick up the pace. Don’t play here if the weather is nice. I ran out of daylight and didn’t finish due to the 6-hour round.

Thank you for the review, we apologize for the slow pace of play on Saturday. We monitor pace of play through our GPS system and advised the 1:24, 1:36 and 1:48 tee times that they may not complete the round due to pace of play at that time being approximately 4 hours 45 minutes. Groups could check-in at the Turn and receive a rain check for the back 9 and were still allowed to continue on and play as many holes as they could until 5:25PM.

Please call the golf shop at 678-318-7861 to receive your 9 hole rain check.

Please accept our apologies for the poor playing experience, we hope that you will return soon. Typically our pace of play is between 4 hours and 4 hours 30 at weekends and although you may not see a course marshal it is actively managed on a daily basis.

You need to play at battle course during auturm/winter time.I learned it a hard way while playing cheaper course where there is nonexistent of maintenance. Lake Lanier Golf is one of the best course you can ever play in your lifetime
