Lanier Islands

I have played Legacy several times before so i knew what to expect and I was not disappointed. From check-in to completion of our round everything was great. I can not to play it again.

This is the second time we have played at Legacy, and it was just as much fun!

The staff at check in were extremely friendly, the free drinks and hot dogs were great, but the real deal is the golf course! Playing at 1 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, you expect that there will be a little wait, but this was not the case. We played 18 holes in just under 4 hours, and I don’t think we saw another group until 17.

The course is challenging, but not because of the length. Undulating geeens keep you honest, and the threat of one huge water hazard keeps you on your toes.

Greens were a little bare in a few spots, and the goose grass on the collars detracted from the course conditions rating, but it was a great place to play and would definitely return.

I just won’t be buying beer there again. A six pack of Bud Light cost $25. I do understand that they have to make some money, since most refreshments are free, but that price was more than a little ridiculous.

Very reasonably priced course located on the lake. Green fees include sandwiches and drinks. 12 of the 18 holes are on the water. Scenery is absolutely beautiful. Greens are in great shape. As are the fairways. Rough is a little deep so stay in the short grass.

Played this course on 7/6 and we definitely enjoyed the round. The course is challenging with water on many of the holes. The staff was excellent in making sure we got started on time. Complimentary beverages was also a plus. Will definitely be back soon!

We hadn’t played here in a couple of years and boy has it improved. Great rate through Lake Lanier’s website included park entry, range balls and complimentary food and drinks.

Course was in fantastic shape. Nice fairways, firm fast greens. We played right at 4 hrs, and staff were friendly and helpful. Overall great experience. Can’t wait to go back.

Course is in fantastic shape and well taken care of, staff is always very friendly. Driving range is a little small but sufficient. Love the course, play here every week. Put this course at the top of your list of courses to play.

Legacy is always in tiptop shape, great course to play and always a challenge.

Great layout with beautiful vistas but don't get caught looking too long. There is a ton of trouble put there.Challenges you.

Challenging for a 20 handicap but an awesome course on the lake. Book direct.

Third time playing tjis course. First, staff is exceedingly friendly. Great challenging layout, course is in great condition. Some extra challenging holes, really fun to play.....definately coming back!

Beautiful course, but expect to lose a couple balls in the water. My biggest gripe is that they do not put out any water on the course on weekdays, nor does the clubhouse stay open past 5:00 pm. I was very thirsty at the end of my round!

I have played Legacy on Lanier several times and I ALWAYS have a great time playing the course. The course is ALWAYS in excellent condition (fairways are lush, greens are smooth, fast fun, bunkers are fantastic and the entire course is always in great condition). The views of Lake Lanier throughout the entire round were fantastic. The clubhouse was small but nice. The practice area was really nice with unlimited balls and a good chipping green. The course itself was amazing. I highly recommend Legacy on Lanier. It is better than most of the private courses around the Gwinnett County area.

Course plays longer than the scorecard shows. There’s some tough drives. Worth playing, not at full price however.

What a beautiful course! By far the prettiest views of Lake Lanier and the surrounding area of any course in Atlanta.

It is an EXCELLENT value as well. With your greens fees you get unlimited range balls, unlimited soft drinks unlimited hot dogs, unlimited bottled water, cookies, snacks, etc. The best value in the area.

The course requires accuracy off the tee as most of the holes are along the shores of Lake Lanier. If your tee shots are off target, chances are you will end up in Lake Lanier.

The practice area is very nice and has great practice facilities.

Legacy on Lanier is the must play course in the area and by far one of the best values in terms of course layout, course beauty, value (free drinks, food and snacks included in the greens fees).

First time I have played the course since it was redone, it is a great course to play!

I have played a number of the private courses in the northern Atlanta area. I would put legacy up there among the best. Beautiful views. Great layout. Some very challenging holes. Great value.

Easily one of the least enjoyable rounds of golf ever played. A miserable 5 hour round that included no help from staff to speed up pace of play. Two foursomes hitting multiple shots and not keeping up with groups ahead ruined the afternoon for all trailing parties. When you have to stand and wait for minutes between every single shot the staff must make changes. Did not see a marshal riding the course until the 17th green. Finally after the round was finished around 6:30 we were informed the club was already locked and were refused use of any restrooms while the cart attendant suggested using the woods next to the parking lot. This will be the one and only round ever played at this course.

What a beautiful course!

First of all, Legacy on Lanier is visually pretty dang intimidating. It makes up for that by not being overly long, but be ready to really commit to your tee balls and approach shots.

It was a nasty, wet day (with cart path only, as expected) in the middle of February, so I wasn't expecting too much conditions-wise. But even so, it wasn't great. With the really interesting mounding and green complexes, it would be a really fun test with firm and fast conditions. I can't wait to come back and check it out in dryer months. Tee boxes were quite bare. I'd be frustrated if I had paid full rate.

Really happy with the complimentary lunch & soft drinks as well as the practice facilities. Like I said, I can't wait to come check it out on a firm and fast day.
