Lanier Islands

For this year's Labor Day, my Father-in-Law and I decided to return to Legacy on Lanier for the first time in about 2 years. Upon arrival, the cart staff greeted me in the parking lot and took our bags while giving us directions to check in and the driving range. We enjoyed our complimentary food and drink before heading to the range. Once we made it to the course we remembered how great of a layout was in front of us. Nearly 3/4 of the 18 holes had excellent lake views, unfortunately that meant wind became a huge factor. The course conditions were excellent: the tee boxes and fairways were closely mowed, the greens rolled fast and true, and the rough was thick enough to be a true hazard. Once on the back nine around the more scenic holes, pace slowed a bit, but with such beautiful views I completely understand. All in all, Legacy on Lanier is an excellent resort course to visit, I certainly recommend it!

Beautiful course on Lake Lanier. Course is in great shape and greens running fast. Some really difficult holes on the back 9 and a great challenge. Staff was friendly, loved the food and drinks included. Definitely a course worth playing.

Every time I play here I am amazed at the beauty of this layout. Staff is excellent as always. Be careful on the backside. Holes 13 thru 15 will eat your lunch. Very challenging yet enjoyable course. Conditions are excellent.

What a beautiful course. I can't say enough about the scenery; the holes were well designed and challenging, and the grounds well maintained. My only issue was that the rough that lined the fairway was a bit too rough ... lost 6 balls because if the ball landed in the rough you couldn't see/find it (the rough was the same height or more than the balls themselves). Be sure to ask for a course map if it's your first time too ... the carts do not come with GPS, or electronic maps and are not stocked with the booklet showing the course outline - luckily we found one of them on the course by accident.

The Legacy golf course and staff are always the best. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the course is always kept up and in great condition. I love playing this course and the views are great.

I can’t say enough about the fantastic staff and the excellent course conditions.

Please know I have a long term relationship with Legacy and plan on continuing playing the course often.

Excellent professional staff, great amenities, challenging and beautifully scenic golf course. Always fun to play.

I was so happy with my experience at Lanier. The course is in wonderful condition and is challenging enough to make you think, but not so much that you are frustrated when you leave. The service is wonderful and everyone I encountered was really pleasant and helpful. It's definitely worth the drive from Atlanta and the fee. I will be coming back a few more times this summer.

The day I played the course was in excellent shape, well manicured all around. It was a late afternoon so I can't comment on pace of play, our twosome had no issues. The practice area is convenient and also well maintained. The staff was very friendly. A very nice experience, looking forward to returning in the near future.

I found the course to be in great shape and staff was friendly and efficient, nice to have free beverages and sandwich too.I will definitely be back!

I have played in this course July 4, 9 and 10 with my customers from New York. They were very satisfied with this course. They said "Excellent course in great condition". Good practice facility with excellent customer services by employees.

Well worth the money

I have played Legacy several times before so i knew what to expect and I was not disappointed. From check-in to completion of our round everything was great. I can not to play it again.

This is the second time we have played at Legacy, and it was just as much fun!

The staff at check in were extremely friendly, the free drinks and hot dogs were great, but the real deal is the golf course! Playing at 1 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon, you expect that there will be a little wait, but this was not the case. We played 18 holes in just under 4 hours, and I don’t think we saw another group until 17.

The course is challenging, but not because of the length. Undulating geeens keep you honest, and the threat of one huge water hazard keeps you on your toes.

Greens were a little bare in a few spots, and the goose grass on the collars detracted from the course conditions rating, but it was a great place to play and would definitely return.

I just won’t be buying beer there again. A six pack of Bud Light cost $25. I do understand that they have to make some money, since most refreshments are free, but that price was more than a little ridiculous.

Very reasonably priced course located on the lake. Green fees include sandwiches and drinks. 12 of the 18 holes are on the water. Scenery is absolutely beautiful. Greens are in great shape. As are the fairways. Rough is a little deep so stay in the short grass.

Wonderful place to play!!!!

Played this course on 7/6 and we definitely enjoyed the round. The course is challenging with water on many of the holes. The staff was excellent in making sure we got started on time. Complimentary beverages was also a plus. Will definitely be back soon!

We hadn’t played here in a couple of years and boy has it improved. Great rate through Lake Lanier’s website included park entry, range balls and complimentary food and drinks.

Course was in fantastic shape. Nice fairways, firm fast greens. We played right at 4 hrs, and staff were friendly and helpful. Overall great experience. Can’t wait to go back.
