About Laura S. Walker State Park
Georgia's Laura S. Walker State Park is located in the southeast part of the state near the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the largest nearby city is Jacksonville 90 minutes away by car. The state park is home to The Lakes Golf Course, an 18-hole course opened in 1996 and plays 6,656 yards from the back tees. Overnight guests of the state park can stay in one of six cabins, each of which are two bedrooms. There are also RV and campsites available. Off-course amenities here include a dog park, sand beach along the lake, boating, kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals.Facts

Great day
Course was in excellent shape and everyone was super friendly.
Never Disappoints
I make a few trips every year up from Jax to play this course....it is my favorite in the entire area. Love the seclusion in the state park (no houses, etc.) and the layout is just so fun to play. I will happily to continue to make the trip up from Jax, this place is a true treasure!

What a great course!
I was in town for a meeting and played this course…what a great layout! The course is in great condition…the fairways and greens were great! If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely make a visit and will tell others to play as well!
The Hidden Gem in the swamp
45 minutes west of I-95 near Waycross GA lies Laura Walker State Park. I have played this course so many times and it never disappoints. The course is fun, fair and reasonably priced, well worth the drive. You will see deer, gators and bald eagles. Fairways are in above avg shape, tees are in average shape and the greens are big, receptive, and roll fairly. Play it if given the opportunity….

Hidden gem
This is my 6th year spending the months of Feb and March in SE Georgia. I play this here several times each trip and the course gets better every year. Its a bit off the beaten track but it is worth the effort to get there.
