About Sapelo Hammock Golf Club
Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is a semi-private golf club on the Georgia coast, about an hour's drive south of Savannah. The golf club and community has a small amount of guest accommodations onsite, highlighted by The Eagle's Nest, a two-bedroom unit located above the clubhouse and overlooks the Georgia marsh. There are additional two and three-bedroom units overlooking the 4th fairway.Facts

Great course
This is a hidden jewel.it is out in the boonies but it is worth the drive. We play it every year on our way to Jekyl Island. It is so quiet and picturesque.

Great find
Beautiful course - first impressions mean a lot and the views when you stand on the first tee and look around at the oaks and Spanish moss and the marsh lands just screams golfing in the south. We loved it. The course layout is easy but not too easy. Due to the dogs legs and layout of the trees makes you play for position and not simply a “grip it and rip it” style. The course has good drainage because there were very few wet spots despite the heavy rains from the night before. We were just visiting for a few days down in Savannah and played this chose this course based on the reviews and the fact we had never played it - so glad we did. The staff in the pro shop.club house were super friendly.

Great Time
COURSE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITIONS AND GROUNG WORKERS WERE WORKNG ALL AROUND THE COURSE, MOWING FAIRWAYS AND BLOWING LEAVES FROM FAIRWAYS! i IT IS A COURSE SET ON THE COAST WITH BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. ALL THROUGH THE COURSE. i ENJOY BRINGING MY FRIENDS TO PLAY, AND NO ONE HAS LEFT WITHOUT GOOD MEMORIES

nice course, good layout
always enjoy playing this course greens rolled well challenge to read Was very wet after two days of heavy rain , so there was a lot of standing water Normally drains well, but combination of rain amounts and cool weather left standing water in many locations

First Impression
The course is in great condition especially for this time of year. Fallen leave were not a problem and greens were in great condition. Some of the par fours were short., but 3 of the par 3s were a challenge. Pace of play was good, under 4 hours.

Love this course . Been playing it for 20 yrs. the scenery is beautiful and course is always in great shape. I live in Savannah and drive past all these courses in Savannah early every other Sunday morning to go play Sapelo. It never disappoints!

Very enjoyable
First time playing this course. The course is just peaceful, well-maintain, and more interesting than other courses I have played along coastal Georgia. It's a nice course while also not having a stuffy, elitist vibe. It lacks a little refinement in that the cart paths are not paved but that is honestly one of the only things I could say they could improve. It rained a lot the day before I played but the course was well drained and exceeded expectations. I would definitely rather play here than any of the jekyll or saint simons island public courses. For the money, it is a great value.

SapeloHammock Golf Course
Used to play thiscourse a lot 15 years ago. Finally played with my son now that he's getting interested. Course in much better shape, greens were nearly immaculate and fairways were very well cut and 99.9 PT weedless. You can really tell a huge difference from years ago which wasn't that bad then anyway.. This place is perfect if you want a course secluded, scenic and quiet,,away from the hustle and bustle.

Pleasant find
Vacationing in the area (Darien). Looked for courses online. Price/proximity had me interested. Hot Deal sealed the deal. Played on a Monday and a Friday. Outstanding weather both days (October 18/22). Plan to return on Monday, October 25.
Course is in great shape. Greens quick and straighter than they look:) Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Had 10:08 tee time but got off early. Caught a couple of groups who let me play through. Surprised but pleased that it was not crowed either day. I'll plan to play again when we return to Darien.

Fairways and greens were excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Interesting and challenging holes for all levels of golfers.

I'm never disappointed
This is the most recent of several trips to this course over the past three years. I have never been disappointed by the course conditions, staff friendliness or pace of play. Although this is an hour drive for me, its by far the best course in the Savannah area. Many of the other local courses are over played and not well maintained but this one is always in great condition and a real joy to play around on.
I'll be back again soon.
