About Sapelo Hammock Golf Club
Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is a semi-private golf club on the Georgia coast, about an hour's drive south of Savannah. The golf club and community has a small amount of guest accommodations onsite, highlighted by The Eagle's Nest, a two-bedroom unit located above the clubhouse and overlooks the Georgia marsh. There are additional two and three-bedroom units overlooking the 4th fairway.Facts

Great day, great course
Have played this course several times in the past year. Although it’s about an hour drive for us, it’s always worth the trip. Weather perfect today, mid 60’s, sunny. Entire course in excellent shape. Greens were faster than I’ve ever seen them. We’ll be back again. Beautiful layout. Just a great golf experience.

Play Whenever I Can
I always make it a point to play this course when I visit St. Simons Island every winter. It’s a reasonable drive, a great value, fun to play, and usually in very good condition. A hidden gem !!

Hidden Gem
I found Sopelo Hammock on Tee Off and thought I would give it a try. Although it is off the beaten path and a 40 minute drive, I would definitely return. It is a nice course and very scenic with enough challenge and in good condition. A great value overall.

Don’t walk it
Either course doesn’t get a lot of play or they have great management the greens got to remember it’s January 8 were like pool tables the fairways were great everything was great the distance between the holes on the cart paths it’s probably about two minutes in a cart so I wouldn’t walk it it was 49° with a win and I was freezing drove all the way down from Delaware thinking I was going to be warm but the course was fantastic great community I’d like to live there

Scenic and well mainteined
Beautiful course and very well maintained. It was my first time playing here and even though it was a chilly day, it was perfect. Pace was great, and I even stopped for lunch at the end. Will come back again!

Off Beaten Track
First time to play it. Overall good layout especially the backside. Best hole views are 16-18. Nice driving range which is near 1st tee box. Unfortunately the practice green was placed across the street on backside of clubhouse which I assume was done because of the scenic view. Tough great par 3s so take an extra club. Didn’t care for the par five 18th’s layout but the views offset that. Wet conditions of layup area didn’t help. For the price give it a try but be ready for an adventure in getting there. For those who live near it, thank your lucky stars and pray they can stay in business.

Great day, but......
Too many carts and players let out at the same time. There was a group of 7 or 8 carts on the first tee, and we decided to head to the back nine. Great course in great condition, but management shouldn’t really let so many players out at the same time. When we came back off the back nine the first time, the front was still so crowded we had to replay the backside again. Also had to wait on some tee boxes on the backside on the second trip around. Just too many players out today at the same time.

Good layout and great value.
First time playing here and I really enjoyed the layout. The greens are quick and in decent shape. Fairways are in really good shape but make sure you hit them because if you miss you’ll most likely be hitting from a barren grass area or mud. Staff and starter were both really friendly. I will be back!

Course is a gem
Played under not great weather conditions but the course was in great shape and the greens were really good. I would imagine in spring and summer this would be a very scenic round of play.
