Greens need work
Most of the greens on the front side have very little grass and need work. Rest of course in good shape
A Day Of Golf
Greens are still recovering from airation and are pretty bad. Fairway grass is dorment and thin.
Thanks for your review and we do apologize for the maintenance inconvenience. We hope to see back again soon!
Beautiful layout, poor couse condition
Maybe just bad timing ( overseeding og rye grass) but greens were ver poor and the fairways weren't much better
mldavidson, Thanks for your review and feedback on our course conditions. We may have caught you on our off maintenance day, so we do apologize. Thanks for your visit and hope to see you back out soon!
Very Nice
Great course in residential area Old course and homes but well maintained
newmanrd, thanks for feedback and we look forward to having you back next time!
One dissapointment
There was a member guest tournament that morning ,carring over into the afternoon. We had a 1:04 tee time and called ahead to see if we could tee off earlier and were told we could. When we arrived about 11:00 am hoping to tee off about noon time we were told that we could go earlier only if we played the west course , which is a much shorter course with very tight fairways. We wanted to play the 18 hole course, so we had to hang around for 2 hrs. before we could tee off. We were very disappointed and felt they should have advised us of these details at our initial phone call. otherwise, things did work out Ok. You might advise the course management as this might improve customer satisfaction in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback and truly do apologize for the inconvenience. Our Member Guest Day is such a big event, that at times some of the other details fall through the cracks. It is our goal to provide a superior experience for ALL our guests, so we hope that for your next visit we can meet your expectations. Please reach out to us at rickirwin@seapalms.com if you would like to discuss as well as see how we can make it right.
Poor staffing
booked on golfnow, thought it was 18 hole price because that was how it appeared since I had used it before to book time. Got there they told me price was only for 9, said it stated that. Went back on golfnow and it did not state that, maybe in extremely fine print but definitely not obvious. When questioned this two young men at counter talked down to me. Paid extra as a single to play 18, got behind threesome on 4th would not let me play through until 9th no marshall only played 14 and left. Staff arrogance is what upset me the most
I had that same issue but called Golf Now and they said that it was for 18. It is a miscommunication and it seems to have been clear up as I played last Sunday. Don't let the experirnce drive you away from Sea Palms. It is a great course. I am not an experienced golfer but I enjoy this spot a lot.
gdmcelroy, Thank you for providing us feedback on how we can improve and we do apologize for any miscommunication. We do have our 9 hole rounds labeled "Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort - 9 holes" and we have a 9 hole icon to help draw attention to the tee time being only 9 holes. If your experience was somehow different please let us know so we can communicate to GolfNow. Feel free to reach out to us at seapalmsmanagement@gmail.com if you would like to discuss further. We hope you are able to try us again and have a more positive experience!
Great value
Had a great time. Only reasons for not non excellent scores was for the fact that it's not practical to get a bite at the turn.
Great Coarse
The coarse was in excellent condition, a little tight in some places but that is what makes it challenging.
Sea Palms is looking good!
First time I've played Sea Palms in a couple of years and they have made significant improvements - especially with the bunkers. I'll be back on my next visit to SSI.
Course is in great shape!
Course is in great shape, and got a nice discount on GolfNow.com. We enjoyed this challenging course, played from the white tees.
Very nice, very happy golfer!!!
The course was in very good condition, had a blast. Cooler on the cart is a nice touch. Staff was very friendly, ( especially the starter ) very nice guy. Ice water at several holes.... I will be back......
Very average
This course isn't worth $60. The quality of the grass was average at best. Most of the tees were in poor conditions. Lots of accumulated clippings on the fairway. The greens were ok.
Sea palms
Course is in excellent shape and if you want a fun nine holes play the west nine par 34 also in great shape
Dramatically Improved!
I had seen some good reviews lately for Sea Palms so figured I would give it a try. In the past when I have played the course the conditions were not the best. It has now been sold and the conditions have vastly improved. The course is fairly short even from the back tees but I really enjoyed it. The fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were perfect and rolled true and fast. It didn't even seem like the same course I had played in years past. Be aware that the driving range is across the street. You can drive the cart over there after you check in. You have to hit off of mats but it does the trick. I will be back again.
Great course
course in great shape. A little more talkative staff would be a plus.
A Friendly Course to Play
This course is very scenic, set in the Maritime forest on Saint Simons. Sounds of the birds and cicadas made for a pleasant experience.
I arrived early for my morning tee time and learned that the pro shop only sells crackers and candy. No coffee. Also, the driving range is a three hole, five minute drive from the pro shop. Range balls sold separately. They did not pair me up with anybody, they sent me off behind another solo player whom I caught up with on the second hole and learned we were behind several foursomes. I still can't fathom why they didn't send me to tee off of the 10th hole. This made for a 4:45 round of golf.
There was also no beverage cart. There are water coolers located frequently throughout the course which was great because it was very hot, but there was no cart that came around offering adult beverages or Gatorade's etc.
The course was well maintained and clean with tight fairways and thick but playable rough. Water is in play on a lot of holes and layout made for a fun but challenging round of golf.

Excellent choice
Greens were in GREAT shape,..almost like putting on carpet! Course has LOTS of OB, so keeping it in play, especially off the tee, is the challenge, although the course isn't long (even from the blues). If you spray it off the tee, you could have trouble. Played 18 holes in 2 hours flat as a single! Course is very flat & lacks memorable holes, but 9 & 18 are strong holes, though. Greens have only modest slope & average speed, so they're not too tough. Overall, very enjoyable. I got a great discount thru GN, so I give this place a big 'thumbs up!' Staff was very friendly, as well.
Nice track when staying on the island
Good value for the money. Very fair course and very nice greens.
Great value
Mr. Wayne is awesome and the course was beautiful. New pub is awesome as well. Good job
Tight Country Club
Tight, 'suburban country-club' type layout. OB is literally 15 yards or less from fairway on many holes. Got a sweet deal on GN for $22 including cart, which was awesome. Best thing is it's so convenient playing on SSI. Courses on Jekyll are wider and more open, better surroundings too. Overall, not bad. I'd okay again if didn't have time to drive to Jekyll or Brunswick.
Thank you Charlie for your review and feedback of Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort. We appreciate you taking the time and are happy to hear you enjoyed the course and we hope you will come back and visit us again soon!
