Unbelievably poor conditions
Played here recently and cannot for the life of me see how anyone could rate this place above a one star! I have never in 35 years of playing golf seen a course in worse condition. The fairways are completely dead. Greens were surprisingly okay. Golf Now should not even include this course in their system until major changes are made in the fairway conditions. I was told at the end of the day by shop personnel that they had sent grass samples off to some place in Virginia to determine what is wrong. Unfortunate for this golf course in a beautiful setting to be in such condition. More unfortunate for the poor golfers who make the mistake of playing it after having driven over 40 miles.
Interesting course
It was a nice course had some fun holes but for my third game ever it wasn't the best course for my skill level. There is a lot of up and down, constant winds, and no room for error. Don't get me wrong once I get better I will be back, because it is a really beautiful course.
Mountain course a little rough around the edges
I enjoyed playing this true mountain course. There were a lot of uphill and downhill holes, but the course not too tight. The greens were excellent, but the fairways were spotty and it was generally a little rough around the edges. The driving range was small and the balls were old and worn out. It was the kind of course that would have been prime if it had been a little more "manicured." I got a great deal on Golfnow so it was definitely worth the money I paid.
Fun mountain course layout with very nice greens
The course layout was very fun and nice. The greens were in great shape and smooth. The fairways were not good at all. Many of the fairways were missing grass and just bare dirt. The driving range tee box was like hitting in a pasture.
A must play
If you have never played a mountain course this would be a good one to play. The conditions were good and though the greens were a little slow they were in very good condition. The fairways were mostly good with some bare spots. Most of the holes are either uphill or down with many great views. It is especially fun watching a well hit tee shot falling for so long down to the fairway. The signature 15th par 3 is one you need to play. I would love to be able to hit a bucket of balls from this tee. It is about the same distance down as it is out, so an iron that is hit high seems to fall forever. Plays at least 2 clubs shorter than the distance.
A Good Layout with beautiful greens
I enjoyed playing Innsbruck. The greens were bent grass and beautiful. However, the fairways need a lot of work to match up with these greens. There were a lot of bad spots in the fairways. Overall though a good course.
Not bad for the money
This was the first time I'd ever seen this course but wasn't expecting much for the price we paid. The fairways need a lot of work which seems like it would be an easy fix but apparently they don't want to put much money back into this course to improve the quality. I will say the greens were in pretty good shape which was very surprising after seeing the fairways. For the discounted rate you can play through golfnow.com I would go again because it is beautiful up in the middle of the mountains!!!
Nice mountain track
First time playing after 8 years, course still a fun track with many challenging elevation changes on your shots. Greens were in good shape, the fairways a little rough, probably because of the harsh Winter.
Course was wide open on Sunday morning, and I played as a single in less than 3 hours, with a stop at the turn!
True mountain course
Innsbruck is always a fun time with a lot of narrow fairways where you're either in the fairway or in trouble! Beautiful scenery! Number 15 is one of the most intriguing holes I've ever seen personally. This round was cut short by a severe thunderstorm with lightning so we only got in 14 holes but still worth the money.
Poor Condition and not "average" golfer friendly
Green were ok but the fairways and tees were in terrible shape for a "resort" course. Too many blind/narrow shots. Not an "average" (18 to 24 handicap) golfer friendly course. Will not play it again.
where is the grass??
putting through sand on the greens. Breaking tees trying to tee up the ball on the tee boxes. I have played here in prior years and loved the experience. Yesterday, I couldn't wait to finish!!
The challenge of a north Georgia mountains golf course is real!
Innsbruck offers a great challenge to a golfer like me that , after years of sitting on the sidelines of work at a teaching career, have picked up the game and love to play with colleagues At least once a week.
The course is up and down but your in the mountains and the layout is never boring.
My buddies and I think #15 is the all time most exciting hole to conquer! The 450 foot drop down to a secluded pin is awesome. Yes, we cheat, if there is nobody behide us , and allow each member of the foursome three shots!
Great staff , great place! Thanks!
Excellent experience
Had an extremely enjoyable time. Demanding mountain course with beautiful surroundings. Staff were very helpful and customer friendly.
Innsbruck Rough Terrain
I enjoy the layout at Inssbruck, and because of that I replay. The current condition is sub par, as the fairways are dead or patchy, tee boxes are dirt, and the greens had just been aerated. On the plus side, always beautiful scenery of the N GA mountains, Mt. Yona and just the elevation in general. The greens were green, and should be in wonderful shape by middle May. This course is challenging, even though not long. Some holes are very, very tight. Better bring a solid 3W or long iron.
Challenging Elevations
Great course for the money. The cart paths could use some work. Will return when to see how it plays when everything is alive.
Great experience
The greens were in great condition, staff couldn't be any better-, overall a great day
Course in poor condition
Have played this course for years but can truthfully say it's in the worse shape I have ever seen. They need to do some serious work on it. They need to pay people to play it instead of you having to pay. Awful round of golf on this course. Played well just terrible shape
Innsbruck
Challenging course. A lot of fun for the money. Will definitely play again
Tight mountain course, wonderful views
Bring extra bullets, tight mountain course with several beautiful vistas.
Rather extreme fairway sloping
Fun, challenge for club selection. Must know your game & control of distance for placement to greens. Cart paths could use better marking from green to next tee in some places. Overall, very interesting layout, with a few forced shots, which could have used some guidance on the tee or card.
