About Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa

The Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is located on the island's south shore and adjacent to Poipu Bay Golf Course. This beachfront resort on 50 acres features 604 guest rooms with upscale amenities including private lanais. There are 10 dining & bar concepts ranging from Italian to a breakfast buffet and contemporary Hawaiian fare. There are several swimming holes including a half-acre saltwater swimming lagoon with kayak and floatation rentals. Guests can also access two tennis courts and 45,000-square-foot spa and fitness center. The golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., is an 18-hole championship layout that is a former host of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from 1994-2006 and whose notable moments feature seven Tiger Woods victories and 59 by Phil Mickelson.

Golfer friendly course. Pro shop advised that greens had been aerated recently which made it quite bumpy. That was the only bad mark against this beautiful course.

Bucket List

I am not an outwardly emotional or expressive person normally… however… I was MOVED spiritually & emotionally playing this course. This should be one every golfers bucket list. The only reason I gave a 4 on the condition of the course was because the greens were still slightly recovering from the aeration. Other than that it was beyond perfect.

Great course, disappointed in condition of greens

This is an RTJ gem. Tons of fun, lots of great holes with scoring opportunities and the views are spectacular. The only complaint i have is that there was no mention of aeration when I booked on GN. We paid full boat at $280 pp, when I showed up at the course they told me public was paying discounted fee due to aeration but they couldn't pass that on to us as we booked with GN. GN should have passed on that same rate to their members at time of booking. I would recommend you always call the course before booking on GN for this reason. Course is awesome, even with the arated greens we had a great time

Poipu Bay Golf, Hawaii Golf at it’s Finest

This is one of the most beautiful courses that I’ve ever played. The maintenance and upkeep of the course is fantastic. The layout is challenging but fair. The trade winds often come into play as the course is located right on the ocean. Staff have always been very friendly, welcoming, and professional. I wouldn’t mind if the price to play wasn’t quite so high but this is golf in Hawaii where everything is pricy. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and play it a couple of times whenever we’re on Kauai. I’d recommend giving this course a try if you’re ever on Kauai.
