About Mauna Kea Beach Hotel (Hawaii Island)
Located on the west side of Hawaii (Big) Island on the Kohala Coast, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is an iconic Hawaiian golf resort, founded by Laurence S. Robert Trent Jones Sr. built the iconic Mauna Kea Golf Course in 1964 which set the standard for Hawaiian golf at the time and remains one of the state's best resort golf courses. The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel has 252 guest rooms and suites and is part of the Autograph Collection. Features of the property include Kauna'oa Bay, a white-sand beach with water sports from snorkeling to beach activities. A Keiki kids club is available for guests daily, and there is a spa, tennis, and 2,500-square-foot fitness center. Mauna Kea Spa and Salon is also onsite. In addition to the Mauna Kea Golf Course, Hapuna Golf Course is located next door and a partner property with stay-and-play golf packages.Facts

Greens need work
Beautiful course and amazing locations. For the price the greens need to be in better condition. There should really be a starter and a marshall on the course to regulate pace of play. I played quickly and was still being hit into while waiting on the group ahead to hit.
Amazing course
Beautifully kept a bit difficult for average golfers. Nasty sand traps but extremely nice place to play
Challenging Golf with Amazing Views
Fantastic golf course. Lots of elevation changes. Most holes have elevated greens. Well manicured in great condition. Amazing ocean views on many holes. A definite must play on the Big Island.
I love this course!
I played by myself. Course was in excellent shape. Love the views on hole 3 and 11, right on the ocean
Will test your skills
Fantastic golf course. Keeps you focused on almost every hole. Amazing views along with challenging design. Par 3s as long as par 4s on some other courses. Great conditions from tee box to greens.
Gotta play this course.
Course was in immaculate shape with great views and wonderful staff.
Another Great Experience
Always enjoy the Mauna Kea course. It never disappoints.
Mauna Kea during Covid
You can't beat Mauna Kea at a discount as it is great at close to full price. Beautiful views from almost every hole and the multiple tee boxes are great.
The only negative is parking....can be tough to fine at times and they don't tell you in advance where overflow parking is located.
