Nice open course Photo submitted by Devin1073124 on 04/27/2013
Lots of water, and wind, keep it straight, and you can score low on this course.
Pace of play was very fast. No waiting which is probably due to having 3 nines available.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice experience.
course not have enough of yardage indication also direction sign
course has not enough yardage indication also directional sign
Very friendly staff
Best time to play is week days to avoid the crowds. The course is in good condition with three sides to choose from. Usually the starter will let you pick the second 9 if it's not crowded.
Great course, well maintained
Overall the course is well maintained. Low flying jets into Honolulu airport were a distraction at times. Three courses, the (B) course is very challenging, narrow, up and down. Bit windy on our day. A & C courses are wide which helps us occasional slicers.
Nice open fairways
Well maintained, open play. Only complaint would be getting caught behind hotel guests, that move at a snails pace. No marshaling to encourage faster play. I got out with a lady before the shuttle pack started. We finished the B& C courses with no one in front of us. Coming back to return the cart, we were told that the group was on pace for a 6 hr. round! Luckily, the staff was really cool, and let us go hit A. We got four more holes in before returning to the club house. One thing good about this course, is you can catch the shuttle at the Hawaiian Prince for 20.00. Their right at the Marina. Saved on car rental. You don't want to cab to very many Honolulu courses. $$$$$$
This one is a head scratcher...
I played Hawaii Prince Golf Club at 11:30 am on Sunday, April 21, 2013 and at 11:00 am on Monday, April 22, 2013. I booked both rounds of golf on GolfNow, as SuperSaver (Hot Time) tee times. I booked the tee times a week before playing, while still in Canada. The GolfNow rate was $67 plus $4.79 tax and on-line fees, for a total of $71.79, a significant savings over the usual non-resident rate. The rate included a power cart, but did not include practice range balls, which were a further $6 plus tax, at the golf course.
The Hawaii Prince Golf Club is located about a 40 minute drive from Waikiki, West on the H1 and later Highway State Highway 76. You will need a rental car. The course was in good, but not excellent, condition. The greens were in especially poor condition for a resort course. The greens were slow and bumpy (they had been punched three or four weeks earlier, depending on who you believe at the golf course). My round on Sunday took 4 hours and 45 minutes to play, while my Monday round was a more reasonable 4 hours and 15 minutes to play.
My only complaints are: (1) given the relatively simple and flat nature of the golf course, plus the fact that all golfers are required to use power carts, 4 hours and 45 minutes was too long on Sunday. Hawaii Prince Golf Club is a 27 hole facility, built to accommodate a 4 hour round of golf. (2) On Sunday, the restaurant closed at 3 pm. There was a powercart gal on the course, with drinks and snacks, but she had to service all 27 holes, so we only saw her twice during our round of golf. On Monday, the restaurant closed at 2 pm and there was no powercart gal on the course.
Overall, I was somewhat disappointed with the condition and quality of the golf course, given that it is a 27 hole resort course affiliated with the Hawaii Prince Waikiki Hotel. Compared to the Ewa Beach Golf Course (located 4 minutes by car further down the road), the Hawaii Prince Golf Club needs to up its game to attract repeat customers. That being said, I would play Hawaii Prince Golf Club again when in Hawaii, especially if I get another GolfNow SuperSaver (Hot Time) tee time.
Resort Golf
Challenging enough with the elements (wind, water haz, rain). I had a tough time adjusting to the slow greens. However, the greens were in a good shape. The entire course was in a very good shape. I would recommend playing the course while in Hawaii.
This is a fun course and the staff was very friendly.
This is a fun course. They changed their address that is printed on the tee time confirmation so my GPS took me to the wrong place. I would recommend you call the course for directions.
Great challenge and prices
Even though the greens were punched 2 weeks prior they were very playable. The staff let us out early and the course speed of play was acceptable.
Great round. Great value.
I played alone and had a 3 hour round. The course was in beautiful shape and fun to play. Water stations are provided in many locations on the course. They also have an excellent practice area which is my first choice when just going out to practice. Booking through this website gives you a great deal on the price. Will definitely do this again.
Greens just punched, but played ok!
They had my confirmation printed out, ready for me to check in! Course is in great shape, give it a week and should be perfect. Tee to green well maintained
A good course that I would recommend to all.
I played this course yesterday and I'm going back today. Nice range and practice facility. The carts have new tires which comes in handy when it's raining, which it was. The condition of the course is awesome and everyone who works there haas the aloha spirit. Thanks!! The one negative thing was on GolfNow it stated that range balls were included but when I arrived they charged me $6 per bucket. I plan on rectifying that today.
Worth the money
Nice course. Water hazards make it a challenging course.
Would recommend this course.
A feel good course
Generally a good lay out course, tee box and fairways were in good condition. Sandstraps were not bad. The greens were running nice and fast the day I played. A lot of people complained about the wind, that was nothing compare to playing in the Big Island like Hapuna. People also complain about planes passing by in their final approach to HNL airport, that's also nothing compared to Royal Woodbine in Toronto where I live. Believe me when I mean planes gets close its close! But to me that's just part of a course bringing its own uniqueness. Ko'olau also is a unique course. Staff were friendly. I was playing as a single, so I breezzed through no rush. Locals were friendly they let me by, told me to take my time; always nice to hear that when someone let you pass. Shot an 81(white tees), to me that's a great day! cause this is the time of the year I'm supposed to be shovelling snow! not swinging a golf club. Great deal from Golfnow $50.
Loved the course!
A very enjoyable golf experience. Interesting hole layouts, well-maintained fairways and greens, and beautiful scenery. Two minor negatives are the lack of plastic shields on the golf carts(We got rained on twice during our round.) and being charged $4.00 for two bottles of water and a cooler of ice. The latter should be complimentary for such an upscale course. Also surprised there was no GPS. The low-flying aircraft is not a concern if you are concentrating on your game. Would definitely play here again.
Decent course. Not amazing, but fairly quick rounds and not a lot of waiting. Worth the money.

Some greens need attention
Overall good course staff got me started arlier than tee time, some of the greens need some serious attention but for most part very nice course.
Well groomed
Today was very windy making it extra challenging. Overall great course, I will be back to improve my score on a less windy day!
Golf at the Prince
My wife and I played this course for the fourth time. This time, we Played b-c combination of the 27 hole layout. The A course was being aerated. The round took a quick 3 hours 15 minutes despite having a couple of Japanese tour vans of players on the course.
The conditions were nice with the grass well groomed, cleanly sharp cut edges next to the paths. Greens were fast and true. I just wish more players would learn to fix their ball marks!
Fun experience. Would do it again.
Geat greens; well laid out
Nicely maintained and challenging course. Definitely a must play.
