Scenic fun on good shape friendly people great day
Deteriorating conditions
We played this course in January 2021 , when it was in immaculate condition, and again in late October 2021, when at least 1/3 of the fairways had gone brown. The greens were in a little better condition. There were above ground hoses and small sprinklers place everywhere, making us wonder if the course had an underground sprinkler failure. We would not play here again until conditions improved dramatically,
spending our money instead at the Wiakoloa Village Course, or Hapuna, or Makalei.
Best Value Around
Whether you snag a Hot Deal or not, you will get good value golf at the Waikoloa Village GC. Great staff, beverage cart service and offerings, true greens, and forgiving fairways. Very fair course. My wife and I are going back again in two days and will book more plays here over the next month before returning to the cold and rainy NW. Don't pass this course up!
It was is nice course
Need to find out how to transfer my tee time. The player I was going to golf with hurt his back and could not play.
Hold on to Your Hat
The wind blows hard enough to make you think about it on every shy, even putts on exposed greens. The course conditions were okay, but certainly not great. The greens were a bit slow and, on some holes, had lots of the pellets from the bunkers splashed on to the greens, and the little pellets were big enough to knock putts off line.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pace of play was great. My wife and I played as a twosome and finished our round in under 3.5 hours, and we let a single play through!
The course layou is very interesting. Bunkers are well placed, I especially enjoyed the variety of the holes, and the challenge of trying to figure out what the wind was going to do to every shot.
All in all a very nice golf experience.
I played two courses before I played this one and this was the more expensive of the three and the least impressive. It was pretty flat not particularly scenic and it was extremely windy. It was so windy that our balls were blowing on the green! I think it was overpriced compared to other courses that I’ve played. The staff was friendly but this reminded me of a flat retirement home local golf course. Great course to work on your game as it’s wide and flat.
Great Way to End our Trip
My boyfriend and I played here to end our vacation and it was a great time! The course was great, lots of rolling greens and a great course to play especially for the first time! Will definitely be back again! And for the price. Couldn’t beat this deal!
