Westin Hapuna Beach Resort (Hawaii Island)

Sister Course to Mauna Kea across the highway. Very nice rolling hills course and at $69 a great value compared to the $125 courses surrounding it in the area.

But tough when the wind comes in from the west. Great layout over rugged volcanic terrain .....

The staff is very customer oriented and the course is in great condition with lots of elevation changes and great views to the ocean. My only advise is don't play this course when the trade winds are blowing unless you like to hit into 20 to 30+ mile an hour winds. Tees are set up for all handicaps.

My wife and I were looking for a nice golf experience on a higher rated golf course to end our 2 week stay on the Big Island. We chose Hapuna, mainly based on the value we were able to get through GolfNow.com and the resounding good reviews. We heard that the views were great from this course and were not disappointed! It was a perfect day for us, the course was not busy at all for a Saturday. Only ran into one foursome in front of us, who let us play through and the course was clear the rest of our round! Word to the wise...if you are a long driver of the ball, bring your A game. There is plenty of trouble to be found if you are left or right of the fairways! We will definitely play here again when we return.

Fun course well maintained. My only gripe is that they were sanding the greens while I was playing. We all know it needs to be done but tell me you're doing it before I make my tee time

This course makes you want to come back and "manage it" better. Tithe condition of the course was exemplary. I felt like I was playing a premium course for a poppers fee.

Service at the front deck in the pro shop was very poor. Had to wait for service. We had to bring our golf clubs from the bag drop to the back to have them loaded. On course play was slow.

We were first on the course at 7am. Everything was beautiful, perfectly manicured, and although we landed in too many traps, they were immaculately raked. A beautiful day!

Although the day we played was extremely windy, we had fun and enjoyed the course. The views were very nice

Hapuna is a great golf course if you can get it for the discounted rate. The course was in very good condition with the exception that the greens had been recently sanded but the still putted true. Beautiful views from almost every hole. The challenging part is that several of the holes have hidden greens from the back two tee boxes which makes driving a little difficult to set up the next shot. We really enjoyed our visit to this course.

Course was just punched and sanded. We were not told when we made tee time. Guess that is why we were the only one on course.!!! When asked for a rain check, we were told no in no uncertain terms. Very rude...Will NEVER play there again..

Love playing Hapuna. A little hilly, but not bad. Good mix of difficulty and forgiveness. Course was a little dry this year. Golf Now rate makes this an outstanding value for Kohala resort course. Highly recommended!

Views of the ocean and elevation changes beginning at sea level and rising to 700 feet, Hapuna Golf Course nestles into lava rock terrain above the west shore of Hawaii’s Big Island. This Arnold Palmer / Ed Seay course is a championship design that was built in 1992 and stretches to just under 6,900 yards. Teeing off at just under 700 feet of elevation, the signature par-4 12th provides one of the most spectacular panoramic views on the Big Island - including Maui in the distance.

Have played Hapuna many times over past years & unfortunately the course was poorest condition I've seen.
I know they aerated not to long ago but greens were still very sandy and a few bare spots on a few greens.

Wonderful value. Putting a challenge. Helpful and friendly staff.

It was a great time with my wife. The course is fun and the staff is great.

This course isn't as difficult as the course next to it, Mauna Kea. The fairways and greens were a little stressed with bare spots on some od the greens. The views of the distant ocean and surrounds are very beautiful. Overall, still an excellent course to play.

TERRIFIC LAYOUT AND COURSE CONDITIONS WITH JAW DROPPING VIEWS. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great layout would play it again and hopefully the greens would be in as good a shape as the remainder of the course.

Great value and well maintained. Nice vista views of the ocean. Wild goats greeting us on the 13th tee. Overall a great facility with nice helpful folks. Challenging as well as beating the ridiculous green fees of the overpriced resorts.
