Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
We enjoyed the course and the challenging sloped greens. The par 4s that are shorter are well guarded with bunkers and elevations. Late November golf is always a bonus. Will play this course again next year.
No signage
No signs on the entire course telling which hole is what. If you never played here you'll get lose since there no signs.
Short but Fun and Challenging
Short course (6000+) from the tips, but layout and greens make it a challenging course, especially when you don’t hit them straight.
Not extremely challenging. Yet the greens were difficult. Very well kept and pace was good.
Fun Course
This is one of our favorite courses. They did an great job of removing the leaves an d the conditions were excellent.
Beautiful Fall Scenery but....
The course layout was really poor. All par 4’s were really short approx 300 yds to the green from the tee box. Green’s were in bad condition. Grass was uneven and with a few bumps here and there which made your ball roll to different directions despite reading your line. Pace of play was really bad, we played a twosome and it took us about 4 and half hours to complete. Tee boxes were badly placed and felt like you could get hit with balls coming from all directions. Fairways were in really bad shape as well. Overall beautiful scenery for a weeding but poor golf course. Not worth the $70!! Not at all!! It felt like they forced an 18 hole golf course when the space called for a 9 hole course. Save your money and go play somewhere else. If you want to see nice trees play here.
Worth a play if you get a good deal, but otherwise forgettable
Older course on a suburban resort, both of which have probably seen better days. Very tight layout which had us ducking errant tee shots all day. Fair amount of elevation change compared to your standard Chicago course. Very short. Course is a little beat up and many bunkers were dirt. I probably won’t be back.
Mediocre at best
We started the round off fine, after about the 8th hole the ranger began circling us. Not just driving down the cart path, but like driving circles around our group on the grass and around us and then driving off and coming back in 5 minutes and doing it again. We had two beginners golfing with us but weren’t keeping the group behind us up by any means. At the 15th hole the ranger came up to me in a frustrated tone and told me we had to pick up the pace. I asked why since We were a whole hole ahead of the group behind us, and he just stated there was a time restriction and drove off. On the T box of the 16th hole the ranger was there waiting for us again and I asked him to please stop following/hovering around our group since he was frustrating everyone in the group and affecting our round. He told me he could go wherever he liked and drove off after I tee’d off and we didn’t see him again. For almost $70 a round it wasn’t quite worth that cost by any means and the ranger following us like a vulture made it a lot less enjoyable.
