Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Mediocre at best
We started the round off fine, after about the 8th hole the ranger began circling us. Not just driving down the cart path, but like driving circles around our group on the grass and around us and then driving off and coming back in 5 minutes and doing it again. We had two beginners golfing with us but weren’t keeping the group behind us up by any means. At the 15th hole the ranger came up to me in a frustrated tone and told me we had to pick up the pace. I asked why since We were a whole hole ahead of the group behind us, and he just stated there was a time restriction and drove off. On the T box of the 16th hole the ranger was there waiting for us again and I asked him to please stop following/hovering around our group since he was frustrating everyone in the group and affecting our round. He told me he could go wherever he liked and drove off after I tee’d off and we didn’t see him again. For almost $70 a round it wasn’t quite worth that cost by any means and the ranger following us like a vulture made it a lot less enjoyable.
Course was jammed packed, probably at 7 minute intervals...3 groups on every par 4...horrible, I left after 9 holes...OH, and keep your head on a swivel, greens and tee boxes overlap shot path, VERY dangerous
Great Course
Great value for your money! Course well
Maintained and greens were soft. Enjoyed playing here and will be coming back again.
Should have been on pace of play
I love this course and it was my second time playing it. It's a great layout, challenging greens, great value for the price. However, no one seemed to be monitoring pace of play yesterday (which was surprising, because the first time we played they very much were). There was one group in front of us which was holding back the entire course and only seemed to let one group play through. This led to several instances on the back 9 of us watching their tee shots and waiting for them to clear, only to have the group behind us hit in to us while we were waiting for them to clear the green. On the 18th hole, with the sun setting, they hit their tee shot then stood in the middle of the fairway for about 10 minutes until we finally hit in to them to get them moving. Then when they finally cleared the green we hit our approach shots (now practically in the dark with the last group behind us hitting in to us), and they came back and picked up our balls. That alone was enough to knock 1 star off this particular round since no one was on top of that.
Gorgeous Course
Very pretty course, due to COVID the range was closed, but the course was fun to play, some reachable par 4s, but it did seem like some holes were better maintained than others. Overall would recommend 9/10.
Nice course
It's a nice course little shorter I will not pay more than 40 bucks though keep Carts away from front of green and pullthem at as close to the next whole as possible let's keeps pace of Play going
Repair divots and ball marks and this would be an A+
A lil on the short side but lovely design. Just need some old school etiquette needs to be enforced.
Love eaglewood
It’s a little pricey for what you get but it’s a great course. This is an old 1920s course that’s grown up and been reworked. It’s a short course so we played from the tips, which If you’re a decent player is what you want to do. It’s a tight layout like most old courses so if you slice or hook off the tee you’re gonna make some new friends. Overall I love this course and will definitely be back.
A great find
I had not played golf in over decade until late last year. I decided to pick up my clubs and get my son involved in the game. Eaglewood was a great find. I have now played the course about a dozen time. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. The course is perhaps shorter than many and water does not come into play often. But the course has a quite a few strategically placed bunkers and difficult greens that make it more than challenging enough. Pace of play has never been an issue—typically we do not have to wait to tee off at holes and when we do the wait is very short.
Greens in rough shape
Friendly and helpful staff. The course is good shape except for the greens which are riddled in ball marks and pits. This was strange as the fairways and tee boxes were in good shape.
Friendly - nearby course
Staff was excellent from check in until departure. Course was in good shape, pace was consistent, not exceptionally long, good scores attainable.
Too tight / short course
Heard “fore” every other hole we were on. 18 holes jammed into a small area. We shouldn’t have to worry about balls flying by us every other tee box.
