Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Short but tight.
Got a great deal on golf now. Pace of play was 4 hours. Nice!! The course was in good condition however it is short (6100 from the tips) and the holes are pretty much on top of each other.
I did enjoy the round, will play again.
So slowww
The course was so slow and they had an outing and we were not even told and given a heads up about it would’ve been nice. on hole eight ranger asked if we were playing the right hole because the guy finally caught us after eight holes behind us and said we jumped in front of him How about checking what time we started? Very unprofessional.
Not Great
Played a 6am round after a rain storm. Drainage problems everywhere on every hole. There were full streams of pooled water across the fairways which meant good shots turned into lost balls. The group behind us left after 11 holes.
The most egregious issues however had nothing to do with the rain. The tee boxes were the worst I’ve played in the Chicagoland. So uneven - there wasn’t a flat surface to tee the ball up on vast majority of the holes.
Overall, would not recommend. Felt like I was cheated out of $80
Eaglewood
Decent round, only wound up in 7 sandtraps. Friends are calling me Mr Sandman as this is not the only course my balls are attracted to the bunkers. Course in good shape, friendly staff, parking lot cart accessible
Beautiful/short course
This is a beautiful course. Unfortunately due to the limited space it's very short. I'm not a big hitter but even for me other than the par 5's I didn't need to take out the driver. The greens were in great shape and a challenging if you leave your approach shot in the wrong place. It's perfect for someone who doesn't hit the ball a long way. Enjoyed our time there and will be back if I want to just enjoy an afternoon non feeling like I have to kill it to get down the fairway.
Lame layout
The course was overall mid, and not very well kept
Good layout but too tight, even dangerous
First time playing here. We liked the layout but many holes are too close to each other and other players were landing balls in the middle of the fairways we were playing. As did we. A ball came out of the air from over 150 yards back as we approached our green. The person that struck that ball said they had been hit twice on that course on previous rounds. I would not play there again based on the danger of getting hit.
Good and bad
We play this course several times each season. The layout is good, conditions are adequate for a resort course. Some greens can be tough and pin placements can be diabolical, which is a real issue for pace of play. In addition, the course seems to always be overbooked, again resulting in slow play. The off corse amenities - specifically food and beverage service is poor, slow, and inconsistent. Finally, how can any course NOT HAVE WATER stations! Especially in the hot summer months and with very slow beverage - and sometimes no - cart service. This is so easy to offer...why don't they?
