Awesome track and very reasonably priced for quality of the course.
Way too Expensive and Slow
The pace here is horrible and the price outrageous
Great experience and will be back....
Everyone from the starter to staff was outstanding and so very Nice-thank you! I played this course years ago when it was a Marriott resort and forgot about all the rolling hills. It was a great pace of play and hard to get it through the thicker grass, but understand with all the past rain we have had. It was an awesome golf experience and look forward to coming back soon! Thank you!
Average course, above average care, slow play
TLDR: A nice course, nothing terribly special, really well kept by the grounds crew, apparently attracts the slowest players in the world and there were no rangers to tell people to move along.
The last time I played this course was about 16 years ago so it was nice to revisit. That being said, the weather turned out to be 50 degrees and drizzled on and off all round. The course was in really good shape considering the amount of rain we have received over the last few weeks, so kudos to the grounds crew. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. This is technically a Hilton resort course so I don’t know if that has anything to do with the clientele but my goodness were there some slow people out there. We were stacked up behind 5 foursomes of people who were hacking it all over the hole from tee to green and then taking 10+ minutes to putt out. It was most frustrating because there were no rangers to enforce any pace of play rules. I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon because the course is just average in terms of layout and difficulty but really well maintained. The price is a little much for what it is.
Stop th Insanity
We unfortunately we’re placed behind a regular drop of players that were ridiculous slow. They had a :45 minute head start and we caught them on hole 6. Last 3 holes took over an hour. We stopped playing after 9 holes due to no rangers passing this group to pick up pace of play. Course was nice enough to refund our money, but please make sure in the future this regular group speeds up there play. It was ridiculous how slow they played. I will not go back on a Saturday morning round.

Overall the course is excellent! the staff is professional. The condition is good, and the course layout is challenging. Very fun to play this course and highly recommend this to golfing lovers.
Great time
Really enjoyed this course. It was in good shape and a lot of fun to play.
Still do not recommend
Read my review of 8/25/17. You'll thank me for that. The only reason I played here was because one of my golfing buddies had a certificate that his wife bought him for X-mas. The closest 18 hole course to my house and I avoid it like the plague. Greens were micro aerated but still rolling nicely with excellent speed.. Course has a plethora of sand traps (many forced carries over them) and it's a complete crap shoot of what you'll get. For a course that charges $75 on a weekday the sand conditions are completely unacceptable. Lucky it hasn't rained in a while (this place was a swamp before it was built and when after a decent rain it's a slog). Today the front aprons of several greens were swamps (the super over waters beyond belief) so your ball roll out is inconsistent. Beverage prices are ridiculous as well. Pace of play is always an issue here. Our back nine slowed to a crawl. Place is overrun with ladies in full regalia who tee off in the morning and routinely take 5.5 hours shooting well over 100. Watch out in the parking lot almost got hit by a clueless broad in her 100K Lexus. Save yourself your trouble....avoid this place....you can play twice somewhere else for what they charge here and have much better experience.
Willow Crest Golf Club - A fine course
The overall conditions were excellent. The only thing missing was fluffy sand in the traps as they looked pretty but needed sand to get under the ball. Fairways were in great shape and so were the greens. The check in was easy as all I did was show up to the cart area and the starter had my name and tee time and we teed off within about 10 minutes and on time. They were some challenging pin placements today and you needed to be a good marksman to be around the tees making you focus.
Casey crew
Nice layout
Good greens
Friendly staff
One of my favorites
Terrible pace of play
For a beautiful course in great shape,, the terrible pace of play takes away from what should be a great round of golf. We were really excited to play at Willow Crest, but that excitement soon turned to frustration. The round took forever as 2 slow groups in front of us were just lolly gagging around the course. There was no ranger to push them or move them along. We should not to wait to hit every shot on every hole, because the 2 groups in front can't keep moving. The course itself is fantastic and well kept. Would love to play the course again. However, the terrible pace of play will greatly influence if we ever play it again.
Should not allow 4 groups of 2-somes in order to play on a Sat afternoon........way too slow!
Great location. Course kept in flawless condition. Staff is totally friendly and helpful. Greens a little slow but staff will firming them up shortly. Running about 8-9 now going to 12-13. Love the place.
Expected much more
I played this course for the first time really excited about the opportunity to play since everybody has been raving about it. On the first hole there’s a bunker and it was full of water however I noticed that on every hole that had a bunker green side there was water where it was unplayable. They were marshals going around the course however they were not keeping pace for the other groups. When pulling up to the golf club we were just greeted by somebody nobody offered to clean the clubs or take our bags. Something you expect from a resort style course. The guy in the pro shop was just hanging around not friendly. High school kids seemed like. I see this course on GolfNow all the time however I don’t think it’s worth money. You’re better playing elsewhere for that amount of money
Early season
I played on a 'Hot Deal" on the only decent weather day in the Chicago area for some time. The course hadn't really turned green yet, the greens were slow but that may have been a blessing since they have a lot of slope on many of them. There are many traps and waste areas and the traps have a mix of sand and clay which gets very dense after rain or water from sprinkling the greens soaks them. Accuracy is very important here the water hazards are set well below fairway level and the banks are steep enough to draw errant shots into the ponds.
