We had a 4some two groups in front of us that had very little business playing on a weekend during prime time-one took 4 practice swings on every shot & then went to hit the ball with a swing that looked nothing like his practice one-hit the ball about 70 yrds-another player studied his phone on every shot-Ranger talked to them & they seemed to slow down more-Very Disappointing
Nice course ruined by abysmal pace of play
There is a lot to like about this course -- tee boxes, fairways, and greens are all in good shape. The staff is friendly and professional. It is a fairly typical "resort" course that can be played by all levels of golfers.
There were two problems with our round. First, it was "cart path only" due to rain two days earlier. The problem with this is that on many holes, paths only exist on one side of the fairway slowing pace. Moreover, some of the paths lead directly into the line of subsequent drives (e.g., holes 10 to 11) adding an element of danger which is already present due to the general wayward shots hit by majority of golfers. Both my son and I were nearly hit (ball coming within 10 feet of where we were standing or riding). The course needs to add paths on both sides of fairways.
Second, the pace of play was abysmal. Over 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes on a weekday. The course should consider adding additional tees and strongly encouraging golfers to play at appropriate tee boxes. The group of seniors ahead of us played from back tees and none of them could carry drives beyond 190 yards. I know this for a fact because we watched every single drive all of them hit due to slow pace. On a longer par 3 on the back 9, all hit driver off the tee and none reached the green. Seriously. Faster pace means better scores, happier golfers and more rounds of golf--everyone wins. Right now, everyone waits.
Nice
Very nice course. I enjoy playing
Love this course!!
I play this course very often and am on the ladies league. My husband and son come out with me on the weekends or whenever we can get it in. We Love it! Quite challenging, fun and in excellent shape...(except for the sand traps, but that will come) It feels like a Country Club atmosphere. Staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Randy is fantastic! I couldn't be happier playing here! Never get tired of it! I'll love it even more if I can ever master the 6 par 3's!! Really challenging! Maybe not for the beginners. It could be hard on you. Really good for walkers, too!
A fun resort course
When i First arrived staff was friendly and helpful load up my bag why I checked in.
After check in I talked to the starter for a few and got a run thru of the course. which basically came down to don't go left and stay in the fairway. LOL, yep thanks
Course was interesting nice layout from hole to hole used the nice elevation changes thru out the course. Not many courses have that in chicagoland. Greens ran true and smooth.
Pace of play was normal for a resort course on a holiday weekend ,Sloowish
They need a better sign to point to the 10th hole .
Had food and drink after and was tasty and not unreasonably priced.
enjoyed my day
Challenging, but fair
For a par 70 this track presents quite a few challenges. The rough is extremely unforgiving and and the grade of the course makes 4-5 tee shots blind due to the incline. It played a bit soggy but other than that would absolutely recommend it!
Well maintained
First time played here. Will come back.
Stay out of the sand
The course is in excellent shape with the exception of the sand traps. The greens were quick today, rolled very nice and very few ball marks. I like this course and it was an exceptional deal today.
No range, just a couple of nets for warm up (with some really old balls). The practice green was in great shape and reflective of the greens on the course - although with out as much undulation.
We were rained out, only got the front nine in.
Great track at a great price
I go here for twilight. Great price, great condition, and awesome staff. Really a great place to play. Golf course itself is fun and challenging. Short holes and long holes good diversity.
Rain
Although we played in the rain, this course was very enjoyable. Great layout and conditions. This is a gem.
Well Kept, fun course
WillowCrest is a well maintained, fun course with enough challenge for a low handicap golfer, but not too intimidating for higher handicaps.
The greens were fair and the bunkers relatively forgiving.
We played on a Sunday and the pace was good. We only waited on a few holes.
Very nice course and run very well by the staff
Nice level of challenge for the typical golfer without being over the top. Most of the par 3's require a accurate shot with little relief, so it makes them more fun!
Good test
Have played here several times. Course especially the greens always in good shape. Took 5:10 to play horrible No ranger , staff is always helpful and friendly. A little $$$$ . Will only play here if you can get a deal on golfnow. No way worth $70
Very nice course
Fall conditions but still in great shape. Greens are nice and slick (even after aerification). Definitely going to try and play here once more before the end of the season.
An enjoyable Fall season round.
Came back to play the course after several years away. Good conditions for the time of year. Loved the challenging par three holes. Fun day.
The course is good
The restroom in the course can be better managed and cleaned
Play within yourself, don't try to drive the green from the tee box
Highly recommended, the course was in excellent conditon.
This is a very nice golf course
We thought the course was in very good condition, greens had been aerated but rolled very well. Fairways in excellent condition. This is a challenging golf course, has some very good holes, and is fun to play.
Old Oakbrook Hills
Play is a little slow. 4some in front of us holding ip whole course. Rangers need to be more active. Greens have a lot ball marks
Always a great course
Greens were in good shape, faster and truer than average. Always a great course. Really nice that it is close to home as well.
