Short course, nice greens!

Played 18 holes on Friday and the course was in good condition, especially the greens. Carts are new and staff is friendly. Will be back to play again soon!

Very Nice Course

I found out about this course when a friend of mine had his wedding there. I decided the next weekend I would play it. Very well kept greens and fairways. Carts were about a year old and nice electric carts with auto-park. The course offers some challenging holes and some easy ones as well. Great course for intermediate and above players. The price is a little steep I think, but you have to expect that in Oak Brook. Definitely worth playing a round at.

A challenge at a price

If you play Twilight or have a GolfNow coupon, then you're in great shape. If you want to play a July Saturday morning standard rate, you'll overspend. It really is a nice course and a few tough holes of challenging golf. But the course is not anything spectacular. There are several other courses within 30 minutes that are just as much fun to play for $20-40 less

Fun, challenging and friendly course near the city

For mid-October with heavy rain the day before the course was in surprisingly good shape. Even aerated greens rolled well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Course was challenging, especially the back nine. Many of the greens are well guarded by bunkers so accurate approach shots are required - if you miss a green you will likely be in the sand. However, greens are receptive and reward your good shots. It seems like a tight course but there are generous landing areas off the tees. We are relatively new to golf in the Chicago area and we found this a good value, a fun play, picturesque experience and we look forward to playing it often.

Good but better if not a Holiday

No practice range and putting green just a flat surface not indicative of the course. Bratwurst at the turn and staff there excellent.

Tight course & smooth Greens

Overall the course was in great shape when I played and I really enjoyed the greens. Speed wise they were rolling around 10 to 11. Also a great course to play if you want to work on keeping the ball in the fairway

Consistent greens and well maintained!

This was great. Tees and greens were immaculate and the layout was fair [for average from the white tees] and very 'thoughtfully' challenging from the back tees. You had t think about shot selection from the tee box. I already have recommended this course to others!

Sand Traps Need Serious Work

Everything about this course is great, except the sand traps. Everyone of them is extremely hard and full of rocks and pebbles, you might as well play off the cart path, they are that hard and rocky. For $79 I expect a little bit more.

Very Nice Course

This course will present a challenge for golfers of any level. When I played it was a bit wet, but still it great condition (including the bunkers). It is a little more expensive than most public courses, but if you find a deal, play this course, you'll love it!

Eh

Course was in good condition but how can they call themselves a "golf resort" without a driving range? Bit overpriced for the lack of facilities.

Great course, slow play

5+ hours on a Thursday late morning, I would hate to see the weekend. Great course, but for the price it needs to be no longer then 4:15 round.

Great course to play, especially at off-season rates. Well place shots are required to score well. 5 par 3's all have features that penalize bad shots

Willow Crest is a challenging 18 hole layout that features both long and short par 4s and par 5s. The par 3's require accurate shots as anything short or sprayed right or left will end up in a hazard. You have to know your club distances and be a good ball striker. The fairways are generous and the ball can typically be advanced from an adjacent fairway, but you can find yourself facing or in the jungle of mature trees that separate the fairways. The greens are large and feature multiple levels so accurate approach shots are rewarded, but putting skills can be put to a test navigating either up or down a terrace to find the hole.

Great course, but doesn't drain well

Had a tournament at Willow Crest cancelled once after a night of rain. It had rained for a couple days, so parts of the course were very soggy. It was cart path only. Also, the greens had recently been aerated and were much slower than I've seen in the past. Otherwise, the tees and fairways were in great shape. I'm not sure there is an easy hole on the course. Bring your A game and keep your concentration up. 6 par 3s, all require a good shot; no cheapies. Long par 5s, especially 11 at 596 yards. Rate was $35 in October (70 degree day) - good rate for this course. Barely finished in daylight, 4 hour round on a busy course.
