Resort Course, But Challenging
This golf course may not be super long in total distance, but tight fairways, plentiful sand bunkers, and fast pace greens makes this course fun, yet very challenging.
I paid $80 for a Saturday 7:00 am tee time. $60-$65 would have been more appropriate. The course overall was in poor condition. For being as dry as it has been, the course was actually over-watered. The greens and fairways were chewed up and some tee boxes were hardly playable.
Willow Crest
I generally like this course but the traps are unplayable. Every last one of them. Should discount the round if they don't maintain the course.
Poor bunkers
For the cost of the course I would expect them to take better care of the bunkers. Everything else was pretty good. But the sand needs major attention.
GolfNow's Value Proposition
Great Golf Courses offered via Hot deals. Great value in GolfPass membership, it has many redeemable perks, that provide cost benefits in the rounds of golf and purchases. I would highly recommend it.
Not going back …
Paying premium price for a place that doesn’t seem to care about the course is a disgrace! There was zero sand in any trap that I was in or near. If you don’t want to maintain them, get rid of them and make them grass or put synthetic sand in (much easier to maintain). I will not be going back anytime soon, there are so many better courses to play for the cost of this one.
Resort course with no sand???
I have played this course many times over the years, but never have I seen the bunkers with literally no sand. Weeds and grass growing in them. Very sad to see since I have always enjoyed this course. Definitely not worth $80.00 right now.
What happened
Tees are tilted. Sand traps have no sand. Very disappointing. Used to be a good course. Holes are a bit close together. Ranger allowed a hole and a half gap between groups that held up all playing after that gap by a half hour at least.
Beat up
We used to love playing this course but the couple times we’ve been back it’s been very beat up. Tee boxes could really use some work
Good condition but Fix the bunkers
Course is in good shape. Bunkers are absolute garbage. Hard as a rock no matter fairway or green side and is like that every hole. Shouldn’t be hard to fix them with a similar garden machine.
Disappointed - bad experience
Our round took 5+ hours. There were way too many people on the course. The bunkers were in terrible shape.
I've played this course on a number of occasions. The condition and time of the round were terrible. This course provides a good experience when it is in good shape and it is possible to play in under 4 1/2 hours.
We waiting on EVERY shot. There was no effort to speed up play - that may have been impossible with the number of people on the course.
Fast greens
I have played Willowcrest multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed playing here.
But this round not as much because of the greens. I like greens that roll but this round the greens were beyond fast to the point it became ridiculous.
Bunkers are always dirt/mud
They just charge the same no matter the course conditions. They have refused to get people in to make the bunkers playable. It’s a playable course if you drop your ball next to bunkers and play.
