Course is a disaster
This course needs a complete make over, do not waste your money here . All greens are torn up, fairways animals have completely destroyed. They have not watered all year. Leaves everywhere. Just a disaster place . STAY AWAY
Needs Repair
The course needs a lot of repair. There was a fair amount of ground under repair. Don't think they water the course. Very dry grass and fairways like concrete. Greens are hard and the condition of the grass is terrible, creating very inconsistent speed. There are better course in the area for the same value.
Course needs TLC
The course is in poor condition! Greens were very rough!
Horrible conditions
Not worth the money you are going to spend playing this place. The greens are burnt out minefields that are harder than the cart path. No shots hit onto the green hold, everything runs through. Bring a hammer to get your tees into the tee boxes. Have fun putting over obvious raised replacement slugs from old pin placements, and dirt patches surrounding the hole.
Was in much better condition earlier in the season
The track is short. Good for a beginner. I took my 13 year old.
Almost a 5 hour round on a Sunday morning.
Course needs a lot of water and attention. A lot of ground under repair.
Poor greens
Greens needed to be cut, no one but us were repairing divots. No beverage cart and water jugs empty on a 90 degree day.
Awful
Let me first say that I am a Marriott Titanium member, and love the hotels and in general their services. This property has slipped dramatically, and will no longer receive my business, especially not for golf. The amenities are minimal, and the service is sub-par to be generous. After waiting 15 minutes on two of the first four holes on the tee box, I requested a refund, which was denied by the Ranger/Manager.. whoever he was .. and who seemed to believe that the fact I was complaining about the ridiculous delay was actually my issue. After a not-too-nice exchange, I decided to go into the Hotel to discuss with Management, as I would want my customers to do in my business. If you can imagine this... I was accosted by this golf Manager's brother as I left, who I'm pretty sure wasn't paying for his golf... like I did. Of course the GM wasn't available, and I was asked to email my issues to the local Front Office Manager, who was actually very accommodating - even if the computers in the Hotel - available to guests - weren't working. No response of course.. which was extremely disappointing, as I have to stay over 75 nights a year at Marriott's to attain my membership level. Do the math, it's a pretty significant spend. I haven't stayed at a Marriott since, and no one at my company will either. Expecting to be treated nicely is not a big ask... and expecting the golf to be reasonable is not either. This course is not up to the standard that I have experienced at Marriott courses, and I will not return. The entire experience at the Marriott Lincolnshire "Resort" was disappointing, to be nice. Look elsewhere for golf, where they monitor the speed of play, and as for accommodations, you can do way better at the local Courtyard...
Getting Better
Course still needs work. Need water and soap at ball washers. No drinking water on the course. No beverage cart.
Not worth it
Staff friendly, but course was in horrible condition. Fairways and bunkers flooded even though it hasn’t rained for a while. Greens are patchy. Muddy mess in a lot of places. Decent layout so it’s a shame the course is in such bad shape. Not worth the amount they charge.
Pace of play is bad and starter let another group go in front of us even though we were both waiting at the first tee (the other group just got there before us).
No food available even though it was 12:45pm.
Untapped Potential
Great course, great layout. Course condition were bad. Flooded and muddy fairways even though it hasn’t rained in a while. Showed up at same time as group playing in front of us and just because that group got there in front of us, the starter let them play before us.
No office available even at 12:45pm. Pace of play is super slow.
Rip off - stay away
The course waited until I showed up to tell me that the back nine was closed due to flooding. The major problem is that the storms that flooded the course were 5 days ago and they still waited until day of to let people know.
On top of that, half way through playing the front 9, a ranger shut down the fairway and made us play the 8th as a par 3. No notice from the pro shop or starter before starting our already shortened round. No discount because we were actually playing the full 9 holes. The front 9is already the shorter 9 and the whole front 9 ended up being less than 2,500 yards… extremely frustrating after driving an hour to get there and almost 2 to get back. Will never be back and recommend anyone contemplating playing here to save your money and go somewhere else. The Arboretum down the road is a much better option.
